Soon! At a bar near you.

It was only a matter of time. To my unscientific eye, based purely off of my own bar travels, it appears Belgian and Belgian style beers have been gaining in popularity lately (beyond their core fans). I just can't seem to get into them. They are often too sweet for my taste, although I admit I am not well versed in them. I prefer the "big" hopped beers prevalent in the San Diego breweries.

Well it would probably improve the brewing process!

I'll be a Ginger Man on Friday hoisting a few Belgian lovelies!

Snuck in on my Tony, my comment was for badhangover.

Did you read the story? Your comment doesn't quite fit or maybe it's just me ???

Yes if the Belgians buy AB they will improve the brewing process!

The local folks complaining wouldn't be if they were stockholders. :)

Sooo, it only goes to reason that those who are claiming it's such an iconic figure (the company) are a bit hypocritical since it wasn't important enough to them to invest in.

Holy ----! No, I'm sorry; my bad! I saw the A-B in the title and merely assumed! Wow!

edit: I thought the "biggie" was getting into Belgian styles as they got into the "micro" styles when they saw the market for it.

Speculation has been rife in recent weeks that a takeover bid was coming. The beer industry has been consolidating in recent years amid rising ingredient costs and stale demand in the United States

Allright, fess up, which of you nancy boys has been drinking less beer?

Doc.

Sorry Doc, after moving to Mississippi I have yet to find all the alcoholic chemists I knew in Utah. So my consumptions has drastically declined. Drinking alone is the sign of an alkie, that and going to AA.

Not LESS beer, Doc, just BETTER (i.e. Non-AB Products) beer...

I've had a few drunken nights fueled by Hoegaarden, but my drink of choice is still Newcastle.

Man, that is a monster deal. They are offering a pretty decent premium, it may be hard for the AB shareholders to pass it up.

Can't say I care either way, I don't think I have purchased anything from either of the two in a long time.

Geez, I admit my friends and I went from getting a keg 2-3 weekends a month (on occasion multiple kegs in one weekend) to none but I didn't think it would impact the beer industry that much.

I guess I could step down from my good beer and go back to the bud products and do my part to stimulate the economy.

On second thought thats not going to happen, I'll do my best to step up on the microbrews but that gets expensive fast.
