Lots of people like to do reviews on specific cigars but I generally like certain brands and most times, I like most or all of the vitolas of that brand. I'll list my favorites here along with my favorite vitolas of that brand and it might be interesting to look at this thread sometime in the future. At the present time, the order that I have listed these are the order in which I prefer them:

Saint Luis Rey:
Serie A
Double Corona
Petit Corona

San Cristobal de la Habana:
La Fuerza
El Principe
El Morro

Rafael Gonzales:
Coronas Extra

Ramon Allones:
Small Club Corona
Gigantes
Petit Coronas

Vegas Robaina:
Famosos
Don Alejandro

Quai d'Orsay:
Gran Corona

Punch:
Punch
Petit Coronas
Petit Coronas del Punch

As far as short filler Havanas, these are my favorites:

Quintero:
Brevas

Jose L. Piedra:
Cazadores

Regarding Cohibas, the only one I like to smoke are the Siglo IVs but I have a hard time rationalizing the considerably higher price for these.

I also like H. Upmann Magnum 46s, La Gloria Cubana Tainos and Sancho Panza Sanchos.

I will enjoy just about ANY Cuban cigar any day of the week. I have yet to find one that I truly dislike.

Well, not much of a review but I'm not big on long, draw out reviews where the reviewer likens the taste of tobacco to shubbery and/or food.

IMO, the cigars I listed above are great Cuban cigars!

Yo CC no Bolivars in your life? Royal Corona is a tasty treat no opinion on that one?

Nope. I don't like Bolivars. I never could understand the attraction to those. BUT, that's not to say I won't enjoy one, just not as much as the ones I listed. ;)

...any comments on the HdM Petite Robustos or the little Du Depute's....??

Had both recommended....got a PR to try but your comments would be appreciated.

Thanks, CC - B.B.S.

I think the Petite Robustos are very tastey little cigars. Great size. Medium-bodied and flavorful. Age is doing good things for these, but they are still too young to really talk about potential.

Of the Le Hoyo series, I have only had the des Deiux. I think it is fantastic. Fuller bodied than the regular line and more woody. Very good cigar.

Hope it helps.

Ah yes, I probably should have mentioned HdMs. I generally don't prefer them except I do like the Le Hoyo Series with the des Dieux being my favorite. I've smoked a few of those Petit Robustos and really don't like them at all.

It's nice to know that someone besides me tastes tobacco when they smoke a cigar.

Doc.

BTW, Bill, nice post. Always interesting to see what another's tastes are. I think your tastes and mine are almost completely opposite (with some minor carry-overs) when it comes to Cuban cigars. :D

I think that should be obvious; after all you are a Dawg and he is a Cat. :p

Bill, I notices your RA choices; the RASCC, PC and Gigante. I personally find that interesting. I have had the RASCC and the Gigante and find them very different. I love the RASCC but the Gigante didn;t do anything for me. I have not tried the PC, but am looking to. How would you compare the PC to the other two you mention and to others in the line?

Patrick

The PC is a lot like a RASCC and they both pretty much taste the same to me. I agree that the Gigante is a different cigar but it still has that RA "twang/flavor" to it and it's probably my second favorite prominente behinds the SLR DC>

I'm hoping that the rumor about the RA "Estupendo" (a Julieta) being put into production this year comes to pass. I'd bet that would be a great cigar!

Bill really nice list, I noticed you didn't list even one R&J cigar, what about them makes them not meet your standards?
