Solid wood humidor?

Most of the sites I've visited have veneer humidors. Any place online that use solid wood?

Laminated veneered wood works better because it doesn't change dimensions under high humidity on one surface and comparatively dry on the outside surface. Plus it holds structural integrity better. While solid wood units can be found they are usually on the pricey side. Mine is solid wood but the company I bought it from is no longer in business.

Are you talking Desk Top, or Cabinet style?

As AVB has stated, much more structural integrity.
If you look at some of the Diamond Crown Desk Top Humidors, they are made up of essentially a box in a box.
The outer box is hardwood, finished like some furniture. The interior "Box" is unglued pieces of Cedar.
The Cedar pieces sort of "float" in their respective positions allowing for the expansion and contraction effects of the humidity.

I've have seen a lot of Hardwood humidors with warpage. I have several, and I am very careful with them. I.e., when one was empty, I left it humidified to avoid any potential problems.

AVB speaks truth. However, if you're looking for the high end stuff, there are several Brothers here who do excellent work and take commissions.

As with all fine furniture, there is no benefit to spending that kind of coin on a humidor unless you want to pass it down to your great great grandchildren. The quality difference is there but the functional differences are imperceptible unless you stretch out the lifespan to decades. This is the same with dining tables, couches, etc.... As I look around my house I see a few pieces of solid wood furniture that will be with my family for generations but mostly its just stuff I like that serves the purpose and didn't cost as much.
So it goes with humidors. Solid wood humdors with spanish cedar lining are the industry standard these days.

I am one of the 'holdouts' working with solid wood and NEVER m.d.f. [the core material behind/underneath most veneered humidors.

To me the issue is as simple as 'solid gold' vs 'gold plate'....

I value the old world manner of working with solid woods and mechanical joinery [like dovetails].

This is a whole differant league.
Heirloom quality, functional, and beautiful.
