I'm curious, how many of my fellow cigarpassers smoke cigarets. I know these are not the same thing, but has cigarsmoking lead to cigarets, or vice versa, or are you purely a cigarsmoker? This isn't some evil research, just honest curiosity ;)

It's been my experience that most people who smoke cigarettes don't smoke cigars. I don't know how many times I've offered cigars to people who said they smoked, then got a reply of "oh no, just cigarettes" Those poore folks don't know what they're missing. :(

I smoke both.

I primarily only smoke cigarettes when I drink or play pool. One or two a day at work just to go out and BS, rarely ever smoke cigarettes at home. I used to chain smoke when I gamble. It was common to go through 2-3 packs a night twice a week. My lungs did not feel to good in the morning. Started smoking cigars ~2 years ago. My cigarette smoking has significantly decreased, generally under a pack when I go out.

Never picked up any tobacco products until I was 25, directly after my divorce. I used to be athletic, can't tell anymore.

Smoked cigarettes for 20 some years.....

Gave them up years ago and feel 100% better.....

I inhale nothing now.. :D

I did the snuff and chewing tobacco thing in highschool, got tired of having to try to get that mess out of my mouth when I wanted to "play around". I switched to cigarettes in college because I could not stand to carry around a spit cup from class to class and a good piece of gum helped out the "play around" factor. I then got into cigars and now I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke and despise the taste. As long as I can find a cigarillo for a short smoke I will never touch a cigarette again.

I smoked for about seven years and recently quit cold Turkey this past May. Was gifted a couple cigars in July and now here I am. I don't inhale any tobacco smoke :0

Never smoked anything until my first cigar. I'll never touch a cigarette.

Almost nine years for me. At one time I was a three pack a day cigarette smoker along with smoking cigars and a pipe! Was smoking cigars and pipes before I started smoking cigarettes.

I smoked cigarettes from the age of 15 or 16 and smoked them until the age of 29. I started to smoke cigars at the age of 19 or 20 and now I am 46 and a cigaraholic..... :D  :p

The only thing I've ever smoked was cigars. Being twenty one, I love the fact that I can say, the only thing I ever smoked and will only smoke is a cigar.

Never smoked cigarettes... My wife and kids can't figure it out. I'm 42 and just started smoking cigars last March.

And it's only been in the past month or so that they've come to terms with my new "habit". Heh heh...

Smoked cigaretts for fifteen years. I stayed away from smoke for ten years and took up cigars.

Started smoking Cigarettes at 13, stopped at 30 and started smoking Cigars at 36 or so. Now I am 44 and all I smoke are Cigars, some of those are Toxic (you know, like White Owls and Swishers  ) but I prefer the good ones, GOD made tobacco, so it can't be bad, right? :sign:

Started smoking "victory" cigars while playing softball twentythree years ago. We won one game our first season, as we had only played soccer competitively as a team . I decided the team, and I, needed to reward ourselves. The A&Cs were awesome(how little did I know). First cigar other than Swisher's in high school.

I quit smokeing long before I started cigars. I smoked cigs on and off for 20 plus years> I'd quit for a year or 2 and then go out with someone who smoked and I'd bum one, then next time I'd bum 2, then I'd buy a pack. A pack would last a week, then next would last a couple days and so on... till I was up to 3 packs a day. But then a year later I would quit cold turkey.

I am gratefull that with cigars, (at least for me) I can smoke a reasonable amount of cigars without someking more and more. Some weeks I smoke 1 cigar other weeks, 3 or 4. Given that I mostly smoke PANs, PAMs, VSGs, and RASCCs, I'm able to enjoy cigars without going broke.

What do cigs go for these days? At my usual breakfast joint, they have a machine and they go for $5 a pack. Even at $3 a pack, thats $63 a week I'd be buring up... hey, maybe I CAN have 1 great cigar a day!

Nope - never have.... allergic. Didn't try Cigars until I discovered it wasn't the tobacco I was allergic to, it is the otehr crap in a cigarette that gets to me.

I smoke cigarettes and cigars.Although now that I smoke cigars I smoke alot less Cigarettes and would like to quit.

My answer doesn't fit into your poll:

I quit smoking cigarettes about 20 years ago. Since then, I may have smoked 10, maybe 15 cigars, until recently, I decided to do that a bit more. Now I'm to 1 a week or maybe 5-6 a month. :0

Does quitting cigarettes in college over 15 years ago (a lot over) count? Smoked Players tobacco hand rolled in Canada. That's a way to stop cold turkey or die young.

Started on coffin nails at 13, cigars at 17. Quit cigs 34 years or so later, still smoke cigars.
