I've heard very disparaging remarks about you people. Get to the ballpark late, leave early. Don't sell out. Don't understand the game. Don't deserve the team you have and not one of you has stepped up and offered me a wager. Fer Christ's sakes it's the most important series of the year. There's still time. First pitch is at 7:05. Don't be late. I'm waiting.

Well lets see Doc who am i going for?

Hell i'm calling out the Ray's fans now too, how bout a fiver at the end of this sweep the Sox are going to pull off?

The Sox set a consecutive sellout record (456) today! Oh yeah, and they WON! :)

I'm convinced they'll win the division and Tampa Bay will be the Wild Card and will probably lose to the Angels.

A Sox-Sox series could be a tough one for Boston, I'm not touching that one......

If the Red Sox manage to beat the White Sox, I think they'll beat the Angels and win the World Series since the NL pretty much sux this year  and the AL has home field advantage thanks to Brad Lidge blowing the All Star Game.

There's a reason the Astros got rid of him. ;)

Have to disagree with you Bill. A BoSox-ChiSox would be a much better match up for the Red Sox. I don't want to play LAA in a short series.

Doc.

So, once again I have to ask, where the fugg are the Rays' fans. There are probably more Red Sox fans in Florida than Rays 'fans. Therefore, there won't be much of a home field advantage. You'll hear just as many cheers for the Sox as you will for Tampa Bay. I got $50 says the Rays go down in ignominious defeat and Pap says you fuggers are going to pay for beating on Crisp.

Sox.

I'll be teh first to admit that I'm a fair weather Rays fan. I've been going to games since the opening season, but lost touch in college and when I moved to San Diego. I've been paying more attention this year and will be at the game tomorrow night. There are a TON of Boston fans in Tampa as well, but I'm willing to wager that, like myself, most people wearing Red Sox gear didn't own it prior to their World Series run.

As for the game...I have a feeling that the Rays pull off the ALCS.

You would be wrong. Do you have any idea how many New England Sno-Birds and retirees live in Florida?

Oh ya, I lived there for 20 years. I can tell you that in 20 years I rarely saw a Red Sox item...mostly Yankees. Tampa definitely isnt a baseball town and, you're right, there will be a TON of Red Sox gear in the stands. I suggest you look at the home/away records for each team if you don't think that there's a home field advantage in St. Pete.

As a Met fan living in Miami I am now rooting for the Rays. I hate the Bosox and this Bosox nation crap. Bosox fans are even worse than Yankee fans now. I would love to take the Rays in this series who's betting a premium 5er?

Watsa matter, don't like money?

Doc.

No, too many intervening variables. My definition of a premium fiver may differ from yours. Money, eliminates misunderstandings and bad feelings.

I don't like the comparisons between Rays fans and Red Sox fans as if somehow were comparable. If you are older than 15 around here in Tampa Bay you didn't "grow up" being a Rays fan. Seems like everyone in Red Sox nation went to Fenway with their dad, grandfather etc.... They have been fans forever. Around here you either converted from another team or this is the first team you're interested in. It also doesn't help that the "Devil Rays" have been pretty much terrible since day one and this is the first year they are competitive in any fashion at all. I remember last year I told an out-of-town coworker I was a "devil rays" fan and he mentioned, "you mean the Tampa Bay Double A's?" That's how bad its been.

We say the same thing about Dodgers fans. What's their excuse?
