Smoked some WOAMs

So got together with Jabba and we each had a WOAM. Before lighting them up we were saying how great Fuente's were and how evenly they would burn, no problem!

Started it out, prelight was nice, smoke was sort of sweet and very smooth. Then as we progressed beyond a half-inch, Jabba's WOAM started to have some major burn issues. Mine was ok for a bit, then started to go crazy too. Jabba had to cut his and start again, I had to touch mine up. Don't know what happened! They were 2 WOAMs from 2 different sources (as I received each one in a different bomb).

Here are the pictures (bad quality because of camera phone)

Operator Error :sign:

Both from your humi and both had issues? Hmmmm. Might be a little wet or too high on the humidity level. Next time, let them sit out for a bit, then see if that makes a difference.

I was hoping for some comments from experienced smokers.

Thankfully I have never had that problem with a WOAM.
The source may be different, but there has to be some common denominator ???

Every other cigar I've had from the same humidor has smoked like a champ with no burn issues. I've recently had 2 Padrons from the same humidor with no issues. I try to keep the humi at 65%, but recently it's been up at about 68-69% which isn't TOO bad. I even had a CAO Brazilia recently without any burn issues.

The flavour was there but the burn ruined the whole experience. On a side note... I have noticed Fuente quality is slipping lately, JMO.

I haven't had burn issues with WOAMs. Mind you my 10 WOAMs experience may be not representative. But I just had one two days ago and it was razor sharp all the way through the nub :)

Hope the flavor was not disappointing. I never had one disappoint me on falvor, too.

I noticed you were outside smoking. I don’t suppose it was humid outside? Sometimes around here its tough lighting up and maintaining if it warmer and humid outside.

On a side note I’ve got a buddy who’s in Canada on a fishing trip right now. He says your restrictions on the size of musky suck.

Hmm, interesting. During the summer months here in Toronto we do get some very humid days although I don't know if it was partcularly humid that night.

I have had a couple problem with my AF Short Stories.
Smokes about 6 out of my box and 2 had burn or draw issues.
It might have something to do with the "nipple", sometimes they have trouble holding the heat when first lit.

Zee, that's definitely user error, you need to touch up your cigar to minimize canoeing, damn Northern Boys.

I hope you enjoyed the cigar otherwise.

I was torching the thing every 5 minutes, the wrapper wouldn't stay lit, definitely wasn't user error Tone.

Yes, Jabba's was worse than mine. My WOAM was good for the first little bit, then eventually I had to re-light it as well and the burn starting going off. His WOAM was bad from the start and wouldn't stay lit.

Those were the only 2 WOAMs I had. Don't think I would try another one of them after that experience.
