Not sure what brand this cigar was, since it was unbanded when I received it from golfgar in a newbie trade, but I promised to post a tasting note.
.
Appearance: approximately 6 - 6 1/2 inches in length and a 44-46 ring size. The wrapper was a nice dark color, but I don't think it was a maduro, there was a little veining present but nothing out of the ordinary or anything that suggested a lesser quality cigar. The things I noticed most about this cigar were the firmness of it, the oily wrapper and the weight. This bad boy felt like I was lifting a wrench.
Taste: before lighting, this cigar had a very nice aroma and a nice smooth taste at pre-draw with no pepper burn and a very easy draw. The taste at lighting of this cigar was very pleasant, milder than what I was anticipating but a nice smoke throughout the 60+ minutes of smoking. Each draw had an initial complexity to it but would finish off mild, similar to medium bodied red wine. I was getting tastes of coffee and leather with very little spiciness showing. The burn was excellent, very even, plenty of smoke and never went out.
Wrap up: all in all, a nice smoke but lacking in the "follow through" complexity of taste that my palete is growinig to enjoy more and more these days.

.
Thank you for the smoke Golfgar!

Nice blind review David. Will be interesting to find out what it was :)

It was a nice reveiw and I concur with the evaluation of lack of depth. When I initially got those they would go out often, but now that I've had them a while they seem to smoke better, but too mild for my buds.

That's all well and good but are you going to tell us what it was? ???

Norcal, it wasn't anything especially good and you called it correctly, congratulations. For that you will receive something else.

You had this to say

I smoked one today on my way home. I didn't know cubans were so dull First, even after sitting in a dry box for a full 24 hours it was still too wet. I couldn't keep it lit unless I puffed every 15 seconds. I tried that for a while until I started to feel a little light headed so I let it go out as that isn;t the best way to drive. Once I got home I clipped the foot again and gave it another shot. Still the same problem.

They stat lit now. :D

The whole original thread aobut these is here. I still had a few hanging around.
