So I was thinking for my trip coming up in a few weeks it might be easier and cheaper to buy a small cooler you know the lunch pail kind and using that for my travel humidor. Has anyone ever done this? You got any pics? Heck would also be good for Elk season coming up Thanks rp

You should do it.

Not only will the cooler hold more sticks for you to enjoy, but it will take the abuse of wilderness activities and be reusable for many things.

You will probably have to get a moisture pack or something that does not spill everywhere like open kitty litter, but that is easy.

Happy trails!

I have several travel humidors, from a 5 count to a 50 count.

I have traveled across the world, been away 2 months and my travel humidor has not changed RH from 65%, I also did not have to add distilled water to the beads.

Sure, you ca use a cooler, it's cheaper but what a hassle.

Take a look at the CP store (BTW Rod, you need a link to the store on every page, I had to search for it), Rod has a 30 count...LINKY I'm not sure if he has beads, if not, go to Cigarmony.com and purchase "The Puck"

I agree with Infinity. Unless you plan on filling that cooler to the top with smokes you will get alot of movement, and could damage some of the cigars.

I tried this before with a smaller cooler than pictured, I used it once for smokes then the next time for some adult beverages. When I went to use it again to store some smokes, had to clean it with bleach.

Buy the travel humidor, you will only use it for smokes, keeps them very secure, and takes up a lot less space.

Good luck on your hunt, I hope you get a huge 7X7.

I have used a small coleman style cooler for vacations. 65% boveda pack kept it just fine.

I agree with what Infinity and Cajunblaze said. Get a small travel humi to start with and some beads. Later, get a larger one and some more beads.

That sounds like a really good idea, and like ashauler stated get the Boveda packs, they don't need to be stationary and they work like a champ. I use them in some of my travel humidors, and beads in my desktop.

Get a Travel Humidor for sure. I take my 18 count deer hunting, golfing, fishing, etc... It's nice to know the sticks are not rattling around all over the place. Mine floats too.

Thanks for the info guys the problem is money is Tight with hunting fishing and disneyland money is all tied up so I am looking to go cheep. Plus the nice side of the cooler is if the Humi's get full I can use it for overflow. rp
