Personally, I've never been a big fan of BLOG's. Going online to read someone's public diary has never really caught my interest. However, being that we are a cigar community, it might be interesting for members to have their own Cigar Blog's, in which they can keep track of the cigars they smoke, post reviews, etc. I think it might be beneficial to this community.

Please vote in the poll so I can get a feel for whether or not we should purchase and install the BLOG software. If the response is strong, I will install the BLOGing software on the next update, which will occur later this month.

Thanks for your time!
Rod

I'm not big into blogs. I'd like to have a 'reviews' or 'photos' area organized in some fashion.

Maybe even a pricing section <-----that one's for BD  !!

I can't see myself writing a Blog, but I can see merit with regards to Wilkey and perhaps Moki.

Blech, as if I dont' waste spend enought time on cigar boards as it is.

I wouldn't have time to read blogs and I sure as heck wouldn't have time to write one. Sorry, Rod.

Wilkey

I think blogs are sad.

I would like to see some integrated software kinda like cigar register that we could inventory our stash with and maybe allow other BOTLs to see what we have via CP. Make it an option to display like everything else, and we only add to the register what we want to show off?

I think a ton of guys would be all to excited about showing off the stash.

I agree with you Rod.

You may not personally have or like a blog but this being a cigar
forum, a cigar blog would be great for some and benefit
others.

I personally don't think it would add anything that we don't already have. The ability to post reviews, pics, keep track of cigars smoked, etc can already be done. We all have the freedom to write anything we want within your limits(Rod) now anyway. I think our setup now allows for a community feel. JMHO

I doubt that I would use it but it might be interesting to have as a feature. I like the picture thing better.

I agree. Even though I would not use it I'm sure there are at least a few folks who would put it to good use. Who knows, perhaps something nice could come out it community-wise.

Wilkey

I already have a blog, but it's dedicated to our daughter. I don't think I'd have anything interesting or informative to write about cigars, although I would read other people's cigar blogs.

I suppose I could post how big a dog rocket my dogs left in the yard, or maybe musings on my retarded neighbors...

Sorry... not a blogger. Actually tried it once, and between no one ever reading it and never adding any contect, I just gave up.

but if Wilkey (c'mon... you know you couldn't resist blogging on the moontrances you enjoy!) or Andrew wanted to post some rather legthy, in depth reviews and opinions, I think I could ignore reading them as well.

I vote against this one. Blogs seem to inevitably lead to discussion(?) of politics. The present "no-politics" policies of CP really stand out.

Politics = poly (many) + ticks (blood sucking insects)

'nuf said.

Cheers,

Some interesting points were made. At this time, we're going to pass on the blog feature. Thank you for your feedback.

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear "cigar blog" is Scroto's dumb ass blog which is about the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

I really don't care about someone's personal diary and their offensive posts (just look at Scroto's and you'll see what I mean).

The blogger has control and moderating privileges over his or her blog and that will only result in BS and violations of board policy. There's a huge potential for trouble. Imagine a dickhead like Scroto having a blog here  On second thought, HEY this could be a whole lotta fun!

Seriously, I say "NO WAY."

Enough said, point taken. :D

Aside from everything else, if they have RSS feed on each blog, and those feeds start getting picked up, you'll see a huge spike in traffic that will just end up costing money.

Images good, blogs bad (besides, I have my own site for a reason ;) )
