We headed out his morning at 6:30....what a GREAT New England day!

I had a nice SLR Regio (06) and some king of Bolivar(corona or CE?) that was a couple years old.

37 on the front and 42 on the back. (par 71) that we played from the blue tee's(blacks are the tips and whtes/reds forward).

My first double bogie was on 15 - I followed it with a birdie 4 on 16....then realized where my score stood. ???

I've had a couple 80's and a bunch of 81's and 82's....but this was uncharted waters.

I sucked it up but still went bogie double bogie on 17 and 18.

When I made the final putt...I couldn't belive it. WHEW!

I only really get out on weekends so my game in general 'could' be better. (11.x index).

2+ years ago I set down 2 goals:
1) get to a 10 or below ( I was a 10.2 index last year)
2) break 80

I DID IT!

now back to your regularly scheduled program!

Congrats on the mile stone. Now set your sights on even par.

Dang, I was hoping to get my average gross to the mid 50's (per nine). Great job meeting your goal.

Congratulations Gary :D

My ONLY sub 80 round was day 7 of a vacation many many years ago. Played every day for 7 days.

Congrats brother, nice round. I still shot in the 90's and could only imagine how it feels to shot under 80. Smoke a nice one and celebrate that round!!!

Shoot for show, put for dough...

Congrats on your round!

What, no girl, this is your own show and no girl to celebrate? ??? :D

Well done Gary. That is definitely a mile stone.

I have had numerous 82,83.84. I guess if I played more than 2 x a year it could happen

Excellent job. My goal has been to consistantly shot in the eighties. If I practice I do that.

Congratulations, Gary. Come down to AZ and maybe you can help me break 100.

Congrats Gary! I remember breaking 80 for the first time when I was 23. The only better feeling is when you break par. Just wish I still played golf to remember the feeling.

Congrats Gary, btw that avatar is extremely distracting. I only read about half of your epic story.

Congrats on breaking through "The Wall"

What a great feeling, huh?....but harder than that, is remaining there

...and the best way to stay there, work hard on your short game

Congratulations, Gary!

The first article I read when I get the new Golf Digest, is How to break 70, 80, 90, 100. Looks like you have the 80 part down.

My goal used to be breaking 80, although now my goal is to play a round(pun intended) with
