Has anyone smoked this cigar. Only place I've seen it is on CI. I really like the Oliva O, O Maduro, and Master Blends. Just wondering if anyone has tried this. Here is the write up on CI.

The 'Series X' is a new blend, an attractive, flavorful, smooth new addition from Nicaragua.

When the Oliva family creates a new blend, good things usually happen - as witnessed by their Master Blends and the 'O' series. That's why the 'Series X' has been eagerly anticipated. Handmade in Oliva's Esteli-based Nicaraguan factory, this slightly box-pressed beauty features a fine blend of vintage Nicaraguan long fillers wrapped in a chocolatey-brown Nicaraguan Sun-grown leafs that's been aged 5 years. Each size utilizes thick ring gauges, allowing one to receive everything this complex blend of select tobaccos has to offer. Prepare yourself for a flavorful medium-bodied smoke that burns smooth and cool, with toasty hints of cedar and nuts.

Let me know if you've had it.

I heard there is a big ruckus over the use of the letter "X".
A/F is trying to make sure no one uses that letter to represent a cigar.
They do not want anyone confusing any brand x cigar with their OPUS X series of cigars.

There is a huge thread over on CW..about it..
Might as well pick some up.. maybe they will be collector cigars in a few years..LOL!!
Story on lawsuit.

I thought the Oliva family worked WITH A/F. Or is that the equivalent of saying you have John Smith on the payroll?

Anway, I'm curious about this blend too. The Grand Cameroon is decent, but I'm not a huge fan. I really dig the Os and MBs.

I think the Oliva family that works with AF is the Oliva family of Ecuador...known for their wrapper leaf. These are the Olivas of Nicaragua (boy, that sounds funny). Anyway, the cigar is a nicaraguan puro as far as I can tell. Sounds similar to the O. I just might have to order a box just to satisfy my curosity.

Actually found a review on the Series X on another board. It is here.

Hope it works. It has convinced me to try a box of these.

There is kind of a nasty thread over on CW about this very thing. Started out with the 'branding' issue, then spiraled into a 'hate the Fuentes' and 'OPUS hype' thread. Actually pretty entertaining.

Regardless, I'd like to try one of the OLIVA X's. Padrons are Nicuraguan (sp?) puros, and they are pallatable. So, this 'X' could actually be pretty good.

OK. Fine. Are you happy?? I did it. I ordered the blankety-blank Series X. (Of course I am only blaming myself as I was the major contributor to this thread). Does spending days arguing with oneself and talking oneself into something count as schizophrenia???

Can't wait to try those puppies.

Actually got them pretty cheap at Bonita Smoke Shop. Just about beat the prices on cigarbid.

You people are evil :p I just had to order a box of these just to satisfy curiosity just got the credit card paid off from the last cigar run and now here I go again oh the fun fun fun I will try to write a review on them when they get here
