On January 7th the UK changed the laws regarding the shipment of alcohol.  Royal Mail will no longer accept packages containing alcohol as it is now considered a "dangerous substance" The rules for private carriers have also changed.  While it is possible for me to get a bottle I can no longer have any quantity shipped in at anything near the cost we have enjoyed in the past.  It was fun while it lasted but the Scotch Buys are no more until you hear differently from me.
 
All good things must come to an end. Thanks for doing this in the past Ray. We all
appreciate the time and effort you put in to get us a taste of the good stuff.
 
 
Thanks for letting me in on the buys I was able to be a part of. This buy thread was always marked by great organization and
an overall pleasant experience. Damn shame to see it go...

Do you think this will have any impact on scotch sold here in the US? I had a local B&M tell me they were having problems getting scotch this year.

It is the Indian and Chinese that are creating the shortage. Even a small jump in the percent of their middle class is a huge amount of people and they are buying scotch cuasing prices to go up and some things to be in shorter supply. It doesn't look like that will change anytime soon either.
