I have two boxes of FF Opus X that were not properly stored. Can someone tell me whether there is a way to save them? And How?

By "not properly stored" do you mean that they are dry? Wet?

If they are dry, you need to humidify them in a humidor. I would have the humidor at no more than 60 to 65 percent humidity. Allow them to rest in the humidor for a while...probably at least 1-2 months depending on how dry they are. As long as the cigars are not cracked and damaged, they should be salvagable. However, if they are very dry, much of the oil from the tobacco has probably evaporated and the cigars have probably lost some of their flavor.

If the cigars are too wet, repeat the above. It will probably take just as long to dry them out as it would to humidify them. If they are moldy, then you have other problems.

Hope this helps.

Put them as far away from the humidification element as you can. If you place them too close the wrappers can split.

Gradually increase the humidity every two weeks, by moving them closer.

It is going to take several months.

Good luck!

Don't forget to smack the guy in the back of the head that stored boxes of Opus X's improperly.

well, more info would help-

BUT- speaking from limited experience (*Ouch*) I have found that these PAM's are back to almost normal. ALMOST normal. They are decent, but I can tell the difference between these 'cursed' cigars and those that were well cared for. Depending on the severity of the care yours have gotten, they probably will never return to 100% 'normal'. But, the PAM's I 'saved' are pretty tasty still. (and no, I have not sent a single one to ANYONE...)

They were damaged in shipping and arrived very dry.
