I have been a little under the weather the past couple of days, suffering from an upper respiratory infection to be exact. So, I figured I would smoke one to celebrate the occasion of getting better. Tonight is a San Martin robusto that was gifted to me from a fine BOTL here. It's been sitting in my humi for about 2 months so I thought I would fire it up tonight. This is a Peruvian Puro, and it looked quite tasty. I noticed no soft spots and the wrapper looked great. Sorry for this one blurry pic, my flash setting was off, but fixed it after this was taken.

After snipping the cap I tasted sweet tobacco in the almost perfect draw. After toasting the foot and letting the burn settle in, I tasted earth and strong coffee. A little way in I detected a flavor I could not place, and I was never able to figure it out through the whole smoke. I was also able to taste warn leather, like smelling an old baseball glove. Very nice.

Throughout the second third there was a nice spiciness on the back of the tongue and throat. A nice cedar flavor was creeping up into the smoke as well, which is always welcome. I had a couple of burn issues at this point, but it was no big deal. They evened themselves out.

The final third was still very cedary, the spice backed off a bit. but still very enjoyable, I felt the need to nub the thing.

All in all a very enjoyable smoke. Nice medium slightly medium-full body. I think I might scoop up a box of these. They're boxes of 10 I believe. If anyone wants to try one here's the site.

Cheers!
