Description -
Light chocolate brown wrapper, very fine bumpiness through wrapper, thin patchwork of fine veins
Moderate box press, had 4 distinct sides.
Beautiful triple cap, bunchin at foot looks excellent.
Pretty light in my hands, almost solid during my pinch test.

Pre- Light Aroma -
Wrapper has very faint scent of cinnamon, milk chocolate, with just the tiniest presence of unground black peppercorns.
Foot smells much stronger, sweet smells of cinnamon, light citrus, and some floral notes.

Initial Draw - 10:08 am

Very dry smoke, perfectly medium in body.
Draw is on the more resistant side of my perfect range, basically it is exactly what i want.
Amount of smoke produced isnt huge, but enough to coat the mouth.
Exhaling smoke leaves moderately strong cedar and wood notes.
Creaminess is present, cuts through any other flavors i am tasting, brings with it notes of sweet cinnamon and tobacco, almost like a lightly burnt cinnabon.
Through the nose, no pepper, mostly pleasing wood notes, not strong at all.

First Third - 10:10am

Initial cedar notes recede as a french toast flavor of savory toasted bread, sugar, and cinnamon come to the forefront.
Medium in body, perhaps just a step above that.
Mouth is left feeling very clean and fresh, no over production of saliva.
Smelling the smoke from the foot clears my sinuses, very bracing smoked wood aroma.
Very silky creamy flavors coat my mouth.

Second Third - 10:32am

Creamy wood in spades.
Sweet almost caramlized caramel taste in background.
Through the nose, getting eye watering pepper.
Smoke now has a faint old leather taste, those are the darker notes.
White pepper and general smoky tobacco taste start to develop.
Also some anise and 5 spice flavors on tip of tongue.
Again through the nose, almost a silky caramel blended with sicuan peppercorns.
Remains creamy and wonderfully thick in mouth.

Final Third - 10:55am

Intensification of all flavors in second third, wonderful thickness and richness to the smoke.
Volume of smoke produced ramps up, but is never hot or bitter.
No tannic flavors or tar at all.

Finish - 11:18am

Leaves a wonderfully sweet, woody, and slightly floral aftertaste for quite a while, beautiful flavors.

Thanks for the review!

I also have a box from '00, and it is also one of my favorite along with the SLR Churchills.

Great smoke, I'm resting a box from 07'.... they sure are hard to resist. Great review, nice photos

Nice review. Excellent pictures!

Excellent review and very similar to my experience.

A very good review. I really like the way you break your experience down into sections, it makes for easy digestion and paints a great word picture. Keep writing them like this! My only suggestion is perhaps to use a photo editing program to collage your pictures into a couple big ones so as to avoid multiple posts.

Very nice review with really good, clear photos. Sounds like an excellent smoke!
