This is Ashton's newest release and I believe it is the first attempt at a Nic puro. My local smoke shop just got a few boxes in so I grabbed a 6 pack one to smoke and five for the humidor.

Ring Gauge 50

Length 6

Filler Nicaraguan

Wrapper Nicaraguan

Binder Nicaraguan

I will start by saying it is a good looking cigar with a nice triple cap and a dark reddish/brown wrapper it looks alot like the Ashton VSG wrapper.

On the prelight draw I noticed a sweet chocolate taste that was very nice. The aroma was average.

First 1/3 of the cigar remained with a sweet dark chocolate taste with rich creamy smoke. The draw on this cigar is excellent.

Second 1/3 of the cigar it mellowed a bit but could still notice a sweet chocolate with some nutty charactaristics.

Last 1/3 of the cigar it started to perk up a little got peppery and a little stronger with the hints of chocolate still there.

The cigar burnt very well and held the ash ok. The aroma was nothing special. At times when I touched my tounge to my lips I could taste sweet chocolate.

Conclusion

I did enjoy this cigar with that being said for the price I paid $9.95 I would not go out of my way to buy them from the smoke shop again. I may grab another 5er but from a online retailer to put in the humidor for some long term aging. I do believe this cigar has some nice aging potential. If you can get them for around $6 a stick I think you may enjoy it. I would rate this about a 7 out of 10.

I hear the Clasico are really good and were rated very high the Supremo was not bad. I hope you enjoy them. Can I ask what you paid for them? The thing I least liked about the Supremo was the cost at $9.95 a stick will order online for more.

Best Regards

Thanks for another great review!

The Supremo is my favorite of the line, too! Pepin says each front mark is blended slightly different to make the line more interesting. So there is no overall favorite as they each tend to attract different tastes.

I bought them from Holt's and paid a little over $150 for the box don't quite remember. I have heard a few say that like VSG's these shine in the smaller ring guages like the Francisco and the Guajiro.

The wrapper reminded me of a VSG.

Awesome review. I have a box of Monumentos just sitting and waiting to be smoked. I've had a couple of the Toros and have enjoyed them tremendously.
