I fired up a RyJ Churchill '98 last night that I aquired recently. I expected to be blown away, and honestly, I wasn't at all. Maybe my palate just isn't attuned to the subtleties of an aged ISOM, but it didn't do too much for me. How do the churchills stack up? I did very much enjoy an aged RyJ Ex #4 not that long ago. Did I just get a dud? Are the Churchills milder than the rest of the line?

I had an '85 recently that was quite good, although very subtle and mild in its flavor. I really had to pay attention to put my thumb on any of the flavors of the stick. I always love the Churchill size though.

I've only had one which was from '01. I found it to be a very nice smoke, rich and flavorful. I'm not in a rush to get more but I'd like to smoke a few more eventually.

Some cigars just hold up better to aging than others. Cuban RyJs are, for me, always pleasant to smoke, but nothing much beyond that.
