Thanks to a blind beer trade I got a Rowhouse Red (Thanks again Mike) ... this was a different tasting beer then I was use to but overall I loved it! I later found out from "Philly" Mike its a Rye Beer and I was wondering is there anything close to this type of beer locally (CA) for me that anyone can recommend?

Thanks
"CA" Mike

edit for spelling

How about Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye? A different style of beer, but it is made with rye, is nice and hoppy, and should be readily available in your backyard. The PBC Rowhouse Red is a "Biere de Mars," a summer farmhouse-style ale that's brewed with rye as one of the ingredients, while the Hop Rod is more of an IPA.

Maybe my wording was off where around here could I get something similar to Rowhouse ?
:D

Not gonna help you Mike, but I just had some Saison Rye at the Montana Brewing Company that was fantastic. Unfortunately, they don't bottle. :(

I'm not sure if it is available in the US any more, but Thurn Und Taxis Roggen was always considered a classic example of a German Rye beer.
I haven't seen it in years.

Rye can give a bit of a spicy flavor. I'm a big fan of the Hop Rod Rye as well. The rumor is Bear Republic is coming to Kansas, so hopefully I'll be able to drink whenever I want!

I know a lot of homebrewers that brew beers with Rye, and a couple of the local brewpubs feature Rye beers in the summer.
