Thoughts on this years match.

I for one think this could be our best showing in years. Tiger is the world's greatest golfer, but has a sub par Ryder record.

It's going to be very interesting with Faldo's pics this year. Half his team are rookies.

Too much is put on Tiger's shoulders and I guess, rightly so. He is after all, arguably the best match play golfer out there. However, without him, this could
auger well for the US team. No pressure on one man to perform, could perhaps bring the team together.

Unlike the US players, the Europeans spend more time on their tour together. I think this has to do with the numerous countries they have to travel to and so...
when they get together, they seem to bond more as a team.

Zinger and Faldo are good friends and very competitive, I hope it will come down to the wire, makes it more enjoyable as a viewer.

Hoping for a good showing, but I can't think that we'll be better off without Tiger, no matter the past performances.

Sub-par in golf is good. We all try to achieve red numbers. He could have been a stronger player in the past, but still he is the best...period....and I would have him on my team any day, any where. He does not seem to have the same focus and concentration during the Ryder Cup, but the US does have a chance and perhaps some of the other guys will kick it up a notch.

I caught the tail end of the show today where Zinger gave his speech, then they announced the pairings for tomorrow. The Europeans look extremely confident, the USA, not so much. I think we'll be lucky to take one of the first four points. I hope I'm wrong, though I doubt I will be.

So Poulter & Rose pull a Gregor and three put from 10 ft on 18 to clinch it for Cink & Campbell. This gives the USA a lead after the morning session for the first time since 1991.

Then, Kenny Perry, with a one hole lead on 18, pulls a Gregor and hits his drive into the water, playing a hook over said water, when the play was a fade or a cut. What should have been a 3 1/2 to 1/2 lead will probably be a 3 to 1 lead. :(

The rookies came through in the afternoon, too. Westwood and Garcia are not playing in the morning. Looking good for the USA after the first day!

euro's mounted a nice run today...paulter and the swede played unreal.

tomorrow should be an interesting day.

JB holmes has to step it up....i love boo.

boo played in a nationwide (PGA minor leagues) event at the place where i play and he is just one of the nicest guys going ...good on him!

Looks like the team pulled together and the boys from the US came through, especially the young guys. Did anyone see the first hole.....Kim puts it about 3 feet, then Sergio matches the shot. That was some start to the final day, but in the end it is better to be a good finisher than a good starter.

Those were two awesome irons into that green. I am truly impressed by the play of Kim, Mahan, Weekley, Holmes and all. Zinger did a pretty good job this year as Captain. Good to see the boys get the trophy back.

Got to see the end yesterday and some action on Friday and Saturday. We won, but matches were very close throughout and could have gone either way.

I'm impressed with Anthony Kim, this type of format looks like his niche. Sergio and Padrig didn't have it and in the end that is what cost the Euros a repeat. Very entertaining weekend. Poulter played huge and made Faldo look good for picking him as a captain's pick.

Check my post above.

Honestly, I think that Paul Azinger was instrumental in pulling everyone together as a team. This is what has been lacking in the US teams of past, IMO. Well done US team!

It was great stuff. I felt for Sergio though, his shoulders were somewhere near his knees after several holes.

Thrilling stuff. GREAT golf was played by both sides. Even if we had lost, the American team just looked like they were having more fun this time. Although Chad Campbell... he looked like the odd man out in that bunch.
