WoooHoooooooo! Count down to RTDA has begun! (Although I haven’t booked a room yet. Is there anyplace within walking distance?)

I can’t make days one and two. Tobacco Road is sponsoring two boats in the “Cowtown Drag Boat Nationals” on the 4th and 5th and darn it, I HAVE to be there with Mandy (Former Taboo Girl). Jeez, the sacrifices I make! Oh well, I guess I’ll just take one for the team and head to Houston after the event.

So who else is going?
 
I'll be there.
The Holiday Inn Express is a Convention Center location.
I'm there at $128 per night.

Seems like all the close by hotels are booked..
I got a room at Hyatt for $125 a night, which is about 6-7 blocks away. They have transportation shuttles running to the convention center. But they might have no room available by now.

Anybody planning on going to General party sunday night, and CAO party monday night? Sounds like CAO partys going to be pretty good!
 
I am going to try to go, thats if my wife is not in labor. We should get a HERF at the Downing Street Pub, it is a great cigar bar.
 
If any of you guys see Mike Copperman of Bethesda Tobacco tell him Life Coach says hi. He is the owner of my B&M, Bethesda Tobacco, and a great guy! I'm holding down the shop while he is off at the RTDA.

I'm there. The wife and I arrive Saturday and will be there for the whole thing. Should be a blast.
 
I work about 5 blocks from the convention center. Where are you guys planning on hanging out while you are in my big little city?

Next week, if anyone's interested I'll show ya'll a great steak restraunt just a few blocks away from the convention center. Its called the Strip House. Its a bit pricey, but damn is it good. Goose Fat Potatoes and Creamed Truffle Spinach is to die for. All the steaks are great too.

If anyone's interested PM me and I'll give you my cell number. I drive a large SUV so I can fit 4 or 5 comfortably. I unfortunately can't get into the RTDA. Kinda sucks that its just a few blocks away and isn't open to the public.

Wow, no one wants to check out the city or its finer dining? Come on, it'll give me a reason to have a good steak!
 
Turk, I'm sorry I didn't get to respond to your offer much less get together for some steaks and smokes. I was also hoping to get together with tasman but the week was such a whirlwind and I really had no idea how busy things would be. I did run into smokyballs a couple of times and really enjoyed meeting him. It was an unbelievable an overwhelming experience and I can't wait for next year!
