I had my very first RP ever and its the 1992 robusto.

Visual impression: Nice looking cigar with dark brown wrapper. a hard spongy feel when squeezed. I know, it's oxymoronic. :)

Pre-light draw: nice and smooth with a toasty wood taste.

Smoking experience:toasted the foot without any hassle. The first few puffs released a chocolate, not cocoa but a heavy chocolate flavor mixed with a toasted cedar??? taste. The finish was a slight peppery, waking my tongue up every time. These stayed through out the smoke. The ash was nice and packed that is layered white. The smoke itself was very white and thick. The only thing I was expecting that did not happen was a creamy taste with all that smoke. Overall, I enjoyed this and put me in a very relax mood after a hard days work :D I know that there are botls out there that favor the 1990's and some even hate the 1992's but since this is my very first RP and have not tasted the 1990, I must say I like the 92s.

Burn Time: a little over 1 hour :)

edited for grammar.

They are good, aren't they! I personally like the 1990's a little better. Also, try out a RP Sun Grown

Thanks for the review SS.

I'm one of those guys who likes the RP90V more than the RP92V. Your review pretty much echos my experience with the 90's.

I know what you mean by hard spongy. It's sort of like medium-hard rubber as opposed to a bath sponge.

Wilkey

If you want that slight cream without the peppery taste try the 90's the maduro wrapper on the 90 makes for a much tastier smoke.

I like the 92 too.

Great review  . I've only smoke the 90's but I've got some 92's sitting in the humi. I think I'll fire one up tonight and decide which I like more. Oh, and I have to agree with Mr. Wolf, the SG's are awesome too.

Sib,

Thanks for the tip. I am trying to get my hands on the 90's then I will try the edge. I got to not make the wife upset with my recent purchases. I have a few boxes coming in the next couple of weeks. :0 ;)

I smoked a 92 last night... It was definitely a good smoke, but I prefer the 90's.

Nick

Thanks for the review! I really enjoy them both, in fact perhaps one of these days I'll try and sit down with one of each for a side by side comparison. The 92 was my first RP Vintage smoke and it really surprised me at how good it was, especially since I was trying it with no prior knowledge or indications of how much folks like these.

Never had a 92... looking forward to trying one soon, I love the 90s :)

This was my same exact experience. I bought one prior to going to play golf, not knowing anything about it, I was so happy with it, I shot horribly till it was done :) (i have to blame it on something)

Thanks for a great review! This is just another of the many smokes I haven't tried yet, but I'm looking forward to the day we meet up! :D :D

Is that excuse copyrighted, or may I use it as well? :whistling:

Always looking for something, other than my lack of ability, to blame!!
