I've had one of these in my humi for a few years, mainly because I'm not the biggest RP fan and secondly since its a bit of a longer smoke and I just haven't had time to really sit for a few hours and smoke.
Well...I busted it out yesterday and something that always struck me about this stick was the oddly dark wrapper. I mean I've never seen a wrapper this dark before and it almost seemed to have a dull-ish shellack look to it in places.
I found myself wondering if it could've been treated in any way to achieve such a uniform look. As I was smoking it, a few times I noticed that my fingers had what looked like a bit of tar on them. I checked the clipped end and there wasn't any sort of tar present, but I did notice that where the wrapper was moist from touching my lips it was a bit lighter in color, like the color was bleeding out.
After I finished it I couldn't help but wonder about the wrapper being dyed. Came across this thread from a few years back.
Anyway, just a bit of interesting personal experience to share. Anyone else notice this recently? Seems as though based on that thread the claim is that there is no dye jobs going on, but I find myself wondering if RP does indeed use the "Madur-o-matic" method mentioned in the thread.
