So I've reviewed one of these before, maybe even two, and they both had draws that were WAAY too tight.

Finally lit one up several weeks later and it's finally ready, humidity-wise.

(I am assuming the draw problems were due to the typically over-humidified environment in which mail order cigars are stored)

For those of you who may ask,

This is a very pungent and strong cigar. It's hard to describe the taste but it's not refined; it's the equivalent of a cannon ball where a Fuente might be a 200mm artillery shell.

Sometimes it's nice to go with precision bombing; other times it's fun to go back to something that has rougher edges.

The real deal aren't worth it. These are a good change of pace cigar (I've smoked both and cannot tell the difference. The price on these is what makes them worth it)

Edit: my coolerdor is a fairly stable 65%

It's interesting you think this is a "rough" cigar. I find these to be pleasant cigars, an approximation of Padron Anniversary Maduros. I smoke the occasional OpusX and Don Carlos, and I definitely prefer them to this cigar (and PAMs, actually), but to me the Vintage line seems pretty smooth, and not that strong of a cigar. Compared to some of the other RP cigars (Edge, Sun Grown) I think this one is the smoothest of the lot.

Interesting, but I've not a very experienced palate.

For example, I can see someone saying "gobs of creamy smoke" when describing a Padron, but not this cigar.

I'm with you on no "gobs". This cigar doesn't produce enough smoke for my taste, or at least it's inconsistently able to produce sufficient smoke, and that's a complaint I don't have with the PAMs. Almost nothing satisfies like a good Fuente, in that regard.

True, but I think extra time at sub-65% humidities would cure that...anyway I was referring to the "creamy" part!

This is what the internet is all about. Sharing opinions. I'd like to get together and herf some cigars with you.
