This is a cigar for those of you with a cast iron mouth or ones that have smoked so much and/or eaten enough hot foods that you can hardly taste anything any more.
SO I got these bundles today and of course I had to try one. It's wwwyyyyyyyyyyy too wet right now so I can't give a good review..can't get a decent draw or a good burn to save my life. But I can tell you these things:
Appearance-wise, NO IDEA how this is a second. Looks like first run stuff got thrown out or something. Nice, firm, straight, punched real nice, maybe a few veins but nothing out of the ordinary. Once lit and I labored through the first few puffs the ash was straight, firm, and white...this is one of those cigars you could win a lingest ash contest with.
Taste wise it's definitely very spicy. The 15 years have not mellowed this wrapper at all. The first few puffs and the prelight aroma are fantastic. Hard to put a finger on the exact nature of it but it's a very classic taste and smell for want of a better word.
Construction 5 with limited data (assuming proper storage woudl fix the burn and draw probs).
Appearance 5
Taste 4 (too early to tell also).
For under $3 a pop it's anywhere from the best yard-gar to a decent middle end stick, depending on your particular price range and preferences.
Can't wait to let these settle and try another one.
PS now that I have poked it three times and rolled it hard between my fingers to break up the hard parts I'm getting a perfect draw, even though the wrapper is now all mangled. Taste is getting a bit harsh though.
I've had a 'first' of these and it wasn't worth the price. the seconds are the whole other end of the spectrum at a great bargain.
Rock on.
