Good Morning Folks
I hope you all had a lovely Friday evening and a nice weekend ahead of you.
This cigar was gifted to me by a BOTL at one of the cigar lounges I attend on occasion. He gave me 2 of them ( unwrapped ) about 2 weeks ago.
Sometimes we exchange sticks based on what we have in the travel boxes , how often you have been seen chatting at the lounge and what you seem to describe as your preference.
It enjoy doing this on occasion and I personally enjoy the comradary in the environment of the lounges I frequent.
I am not sure what they sell for, But a gifted cigar always has a nice price.
It has been in my Humidor on the top shelf since I received it, and this morning seemed like a nice time to fire this up with a cup of coffee.
An unexpected visitor can also be noted in the photos. ( lower left corner ) My sons call them "stinkbugs".. I see them around here on occasion in in the early Fall.
I think he just was cruising by and stopped to enjoy a close-up of what was smelling so good.
Because of my enjoyment of the moment, He was spared a traumatic crush injury and left to wander another day.
1) Construction - Pretty to look at and nicely built.. Had a nice wrap with a few small veins.. Had a very heavy feel to it.
2) I cut a few CM's of the tip off this one and toasted the foot.. It easily Lit and burned very evenly all the way through.
This cigar had a very easy, almost effortless draw. Kinda felt after the first puff that this was what a cigar should draw like.
3) Taste-
1/3rd - Very, Very nice with feint hints of cocoa, earth and toast. Not very complex and very enjoyable.
2/3rd - Dense / white / thick smoke.. and alot of it. .. The cocoa taste was still there and a bit of leather came into play. Not overpowering, about what you would expect from a maduro wrapped smoke.
A very enjoyable experience at this point.
3/3rd - Very good , More intensity on the flavors that were present at the 2/3 mark with some pepper and spice on the cocoa. This was nice and left a slight coating on the top of my mouth. It nicely complimented the coffee I was drinking.
The Nub - A bit stronger and a little heat, nothing unpleasant or overpowering. I kept smoking it until it was too hot to handle.
The Ash - Well organized with alternating lines of black and gray.
I would overall call this a very good smoke, One that is worthy of having a few of in my box.
I see them quite frequently on sale or included in sampler packs. I will be keeping an eye out for a few more of these tasty sticks.
I hope you enjoyed yet another of my newbie reviews.. I will continue to post some more and will always welcome your feedback, opinions and comments.
