So, it's Monday morning, I've got to go to work at four p.m., and being the nice guy that I am, I take my wife out to breakfast. After breakfast, I drive around with the woman and she says to me, "Hey, I think I heard about a cigar lounge place around here, let's go look for it."

I drove around and approximately 30 minutes later, I discovered it: "Zack's Cigar Lounge."

Okay okay, swanky joint, swanky people. Girl at the front tells me they have the largest walk-in humidor on the west coast blah blah blah. I walked into the humidor and was in ecstasy at the selection. After much much deliberation, I buy a 24-ct box of Drew Estate's Java Maduro, and the girl, she tells me, "Hey, Rocky Patel was in here with us last week and gave us a chest of these, here; try a few of them..."

She hands me FIVE Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve Torpedo Corojos, 5 x 54 of pure spicey goodness!

Best part is: FREE!!

This is my first REAL Rocky Patel cigar (besides the Drew Estate/Rocky Patel mashup that is known as "Java"), and let me tell you, when I went home and lit one up with a tumbler of cranberry juice, I was in HEAVEN. I've been working since 4 PM, and it's 2 AM and here I am, 10 hours later, still thinking about it.

It had a smooth draw, the wrapper licked my lips with fire, and the taste was incredible. I don't know if you've ever had one, and maybe they're not your cup of tea, but as a conossieur of Kahluas, Javas, and Naturals, this was nice sidetrack from the normals and very serious cigar heaven to me.

Most websites are selling samplers for $30 USD average, but if you're lucky to have $400 USD to buy a box, do it!

I like them a lot, but they cost too much IMHO.

Make the X3. The OWR are one of my favorite cigars, but I have trouble spending that amount of money. There are other cigars that I like more than them that cost less or the same. I may buy one every once in a while, but not very often.

Definitely one of my favorites put out by Rocky! If you liked this one try the Maduro, it's pure gold.

I am a fan of the OWR also, and a fan of almost all of Rocky's stuff. Are some over priced, maybe a on a per stick basis, but the boxes are not that bad.

I agree I had one the other day and it is still fresh in my mind a wonderful cigar with a bit of spice and smooth flavor right to the end.
