Good evening Folks.

I smoked a RP Fusion MM / Torp after work today.
I received this smoke in a RP sampler pack, I think it averaged out to cost a bit less then $5.

1) Construction - Nice.. A thick, dark oily wrap with a few visible veins. The were small an not really big enough to feel to the touch. This cigar smelled great right out of the cellophane )

2) I took about 3cm of the top point off with my cutter, toasted the foot.. It easily Lit and burned pretty evenly all the way through.
This smoke drew very easily, with little to no effort.

3) Taste-
1/3rd - Very smooth, cool and hints of cocoa and earth. a slight leather taste was present. Tasted Good and smelled good too.
2/3rd - Dense, Creamy smoke.. The leather disappeared and a earthy / cocoa taste started to bang.. Rich and nice. My wife commented that she could smell it in the front of our house.
3/3rd - Still delicious, the smell of the smoke was great. A nice spice came into play right before the first " Fusion MM " Band. This was very nice and enjoyable.
The Nub- Tasted so good, I was tempted to inhale, or eat the thing.

This cigar will go in my log as a future purchase promise, I enjoyed it very much and it burned from 16:25hrs to 18:05hrs. ( 1.5hrs+ )
I am finding I like Rocky Patel Cigars. I really have not smoked a "bad" one yet.
Maybe that is just luck, or maybe he just makes good first run cigars.

I will continue to purchase my sampler packs while I experimenting with with what I enjoy.
I consistantly drink the same Water when I smoke a new cigar, So I don't get a partial taste based on the flavor of my beverage.

Thanks for taking a minute to read my newbie review, Please feel free to add a comment or suggestion.

Nice review..You should try some of the RP seasonal smokes such as the Summer or the winter blends..I found those to be very tasty and Im not usually in his stuff..

Thanks Jsanzone23,

I have tried one of the RP " Winter " collection - 2009 ,
My friend gave me a stick of it a week or so ago, It was pretty good too.. A little bitter ( according to my notes )
But I think overall, I have not been disappointed with anything I smoked of the RP line yet.
( I would like to try some of his "RP Seconds" , to see if the same holds true, But I am hesitant to buy a box or bundle of any specific brand yet, as I am still maturing as a cigar smoker.)

The "Vintage" 1990 or 1992 line is good too, a had a box pressed stick when I was walking uptown with the wife last Friday.
Have you any of those yet?

I am looking forward to tommorrow, I will smoke a nice looking DPG stick I recieved a few days ago.. They never seem to disappoint either.

Thanks for your reply :)

Great Review!

If you get a chance try the Old World Reserve. I think that is his best stick. I dislike his Sun Grown but a lot of people like them.

Again... very nice review!

I have one of these sitting in the tupperdor except it's a Churchill. After reading this I'm chomping at the bit to smoke it. Good review

I got into cigars because of Rocky and his Edge. I went through all of his cigars and then decided to try the RP seconds...Although they were great to begin with, as I began to try other cigars and really get into other brands and even better RPs, the 2nds just lost their zing. I found myself giving them to others to enjoy. Great for the price, but as quick as one can progress with cigars and their pallet, they became left overs in my humi. As far as the seasonals, definitely get the summer 09 blend and avoid the spring 09 blend.
