Rocky Patel Fumas are tasty, corona-sized morsels made in Rocky’s Nicaraguan factory, the home of Edge Counterfeits, RP Fusion, and RP Signature. Fitted with an attractively tapering tip, each Fuma is coated by a dark maduro wrapper leaf and filled with the same aged Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Honduran tobaccos used in his higher-end lines. The result is a toasty, medium-bodied smoke with rich tobacco flavors, a subtle sweetness, and a long, satisfying finish. Construction is top-notch, as each cigar burns surprisingly slow and cool, creating a strong salt-and-pepper ash that’ll hold for well over an inch.

First the wrapper was a dark OD green not a maduro at all, smooth and almost free of veins. The head closely resembles a curly head. I smoked this straight out of the shipping box. The prelight draw was too easy and had a woody taste,the construction somewhat soft. The initial taste of the wrapper was slightly (not unpleasant) salty. These seem to be made for CI as the band had CI in the middle. It was a damp cigar and had to be relit twice. The first third was very peppery and then settled into a slightly woody taste and then into just smoke. The flavor was about as deep and complex as my first wife. I will let the rest settle into the humidor for several days before trying them again. Having won these on Cbid, I had $1.50 each into these counting shipping. About right.
