Got this one as a gift from Uptown_Isy a week or so ago. Finally had a good chance to sit down and light this "promise to love" cigar from Isy. As soon as I took this out of the cello I could feel the oil on this one. It smelled great and begged me to smoke it. At first look I noticed some strange holes in the cigar, didn't worry me much, but looked different.
At first light I was hit with a wealth of spice and thought that this was going to be a spicy one! But immediately after letting it burn for a bit I was welcomed with a smooth draw of leathery notes. The first third of the cigar was very smooth from every aspect. Its draw was consistent and open; but not to loose. The leathery notes continued. It had a GREAT aroma and after taste that stayed on your pallet well after exhale. The ash was a beautiful white that held together well.
Right at the half way point I was shocked to have a few draws of no leather, but very earthy woodsy draws. This lasted for a few puffs, but then it went right back to the leather taste and same aroma.
I was shocked that even down to the tip it had not harsh burn! No spice that you sometimes get at the end of a cigar. This one was smooth all the way to the very end. I had to burn my fingers to smoke it. I could not put it down. It was extremely smooth and tasty all the way through. Total smoke time was around an hour and a half. It is one I would recommend to you if you have not tried it! I will be buying a box soon! Would like to know if the torpedo is as good as this toro? Thanks Isy! This was a great gift!! Hope that one day I can repay it.
