Wow, 91! What a life this guy lived. RIP.

Hefner was the most prolific baby killer in history. He is responsible for the premature death of millions and millions of potential little boys and girls around the world. Domestic mothers facing the "missing sock crisis" had but one man to look at for the answer to why there was an odd number of tube socks coming out of the laundry (it wasn't the dryer's fault). Thanks to Hef's mansion, the words "grotto" and "debauchery" referenced each other in the thesaurus.

This was in the cards for some time now, and if I recall, Hefner, himself, said not too long ago that, "It won't be long, now...". He knew it was coming, and I guess at 91 years old you can't really say he "died unexpectedly". At that age, you "wake up unexpectedly". The man changed an entire culture. Enjoy your 72 girlfriends on the other side, Hef.

If you were a boomer there was a some point in your life a time where you wanted to be Hugh Hefner. That Time lasted at least 25 years for me from being an early teenager to almost 40. RIP Hef

"....After working first as a copywriter for "Esquire" – where he reportedly left because he didn't get a $5 raise – Hefner decided to start his own publication and he raised $8,000 from 45 investors to launch "Playboy" in December 1953. (He had originally planned to call it "Stag Night," but was forced to change the name to avoid trademark infringement.)

It was produced in his kitchen and carried no date because he wasn't sure there would be a second issue...."

Much respect for the business and marketing skills of Mr. Hefner. Literally made an empire from $8000 on his kitchen table. Oh, and I only looked at Playboy for the articles. Just to clear that up......:D

Hef was the man, the magazine was ahead of its time and his legacy will live on. RIP!

One of the greatest. I didn't realize he was that old now, wow. He lived a great one and always kept it classy. RIP Hef.

RIP Hef! Amazing he lived as long as he did, pretty impressive....

Now I am trying to figure out who will play him in "Playboy the movie" (I assume that will be a thing sooner than later). Is this a serious movie with Brad Pitt or is this a light comedy staring James Franco? :p

So, when/if Hef gets to Heaven, do you think he will be like, "Ehhh" ?

RIP

T

I think I am going to stroll around my house in a silk robe for a few days in order to express my mourning for Hef. RIP.

I could always tell when the Playboy would show up. Black plastic wrapper and only showed the mailing sticker. I'd have to wait a day or week for my step dad to open it, but I've been "reading" Playboy since I was 7. God bless Hugh.

Just an old horny dude, that made and lost a lot of money. I'm sure he'll be missed.
