I acquired a humidor (it was advertised as holding 13 but has dimensions of 9"Dx12"Wx4"H it will hold a lot more) a couple of weeks ago and I bought a digital hygrometer and a cigar sized tube of drymistat. After seasoning my humidor and doing a salt test on my hygrometer I have been getting a reading of RH70 and a temp of 69. My humidor is nowhere near full. So far I have 10 sticks from a sampler and just won an auction over the weekend for 5 more. On a grad students budget it's tough to fill my humidor to capacity but I am working on it. I have found postings on the forum about raising RH but not to much about raising. The temp down here in Southwest FL is staying around 80 during the day (76 in the house). I can’t think of anything else to add to this post rather than thanking everyone for their insight and that this looks like not only a good site but one that will serve as a great source of information.

Did you season the humidor properly?

Once you add more sticks in, the humidity should start to settle.

Welcome, by the way. I feel your pain when it comes to money crunching as a student. :)

Welcome to CP. Head over to the Intro Forum and tell us a little bit about yourself. Search is your friend...most of your questions can be answered that way.

Welcome as Tom said please head over Here and introduce yourself.

As far as humidity goes adding new sticks might help, but most likely not. The best thing is make sure the humi was seasoned properly (search is your friend here) plus where are you storing you humi in the house. Try to pick the coolest spot in the house, that will help, as temps rise you will find that it will be a bit harder to control it in a warmer climate.

Best thing is do a lot of searching here because I can tell you that all of your questions have been asked here in the past.

jrlosh, didnt I just see this exact thread on a c-bid fourm? I felt like I was having flashbacks when I read it then I checked it out it looks like you have 13 answers over there looks like you really worried about this i hope you can get it figured out. I'ts a good Idea to give an intro on this site before you start posting just the courtious thig to do and you get more respect that way its a great place here good to have you.
