Got this as a companion to a couple Edicion Silvio from a BOTL (thanks, Mike!). Been holding on to these until the weather turned nice enough to enjoy without being distracted by wind, rain, and 40 degree temps.
With a CigarPrice range between $6 and $14, I would have expected more from this stick, but once again a Perdomo cigar comes up short.
On looks alone it scores a 9, a beatifully constructed torp with a lovely natural wrapper.
But beauty is only skin-deep, while ugly goes clear to the bone. Felt good in the hand, solid roll, no soft spots.
Torched it and was imrpessed by the neat circular burn--for the first 1/4 inch. From that point it burned horribly, canoeing like crazy, ash flaking off all over the place. Went out completely once. Touching it up with the torch did nothing to correct this. The firm feel of the prelight was soon replaced with a horribly spongy feel that grew worse as I smoked.
The smoke itself was quite nice, large volumes, nice mild bouquet, a pleasant flavor and finish, although quite short. Not much complexity, but nothing to really complain about either.
If the burn and the feel of the cigar had been better, this would have been a really good smoke, but the physical defects detracted so much from the experience that I finally dumped it about 2/3 of the way through.
Would give it a rating in the mid-70's, and not a smoke I would buy or recommend.
Tomorrow the Edicion Silvio!
