Got this as a companion to a couple Edicion Silvio from a BOTL (thanks, Mike!). Been holding on to these until the weather turned nice enough to enjoy without being distracted by wind, rain, and 40 degree temps.

With a CigarPrice range between $6 and $14, I would have expected more from this stick, but once again a Perdomo cigar comes up short.

On looks alone it scores a 9, a beatifully constructed torp with a lovely natural wrapper.
But beauty is only skin-deep, while ugly goes clear to the bone. Felt good in the hand, solid roll, no soft spots.

Torched it and was imrpessed by the neat circular burn--for the first 1/4 inch. From that point it burned horribly, canoeing like crazy, ash flaking off all over the place. Went out completely once. Touching it up with the torch did nothing to correct this. The firm feel of the prelight was soon replaced with a horribly spongy feel that grew worse as I smoked.

The smoke itself was quite nice, large volumes, nice mild bouquet, a pleasant flavor and finish, although quite short. Not much complexity, but nothing to really complain about either.

If the burn and the feel of the cigar had been better, this would have been a really good smoke, but the physical defects detracted so much from the experience that I finally dumped it about 2/3 of the way through.

Would give it a rating in the mid-70's, and not a smoke I would buy or recommend.

Tomorrow the Edicion Silvio!

don't understand what's up with those guys. I had an Estate Selleccion and had no choice but to pan it. ( Burned horribly, ghoulish taste ) Then I bought another, aged it in the Humi for 2 months and it was very nice. But still, they aren't good enough to warrant the price. I'd sooner smoke 4 or 5 dollar cigar from any number of makers ( Partagas Blakc Label and Spaniish Rosada come to mind) than wste my money on another iffy prposition from Perdomo.

Now, the cuesta Rey sun grown I just tried the other night was Stupendous!

I'm just guessing here, but I think you may just love the EDS. I'm not very familiar with Perdomo cigars, but man the Edicion de Silvios are just wonderful IMHO.

Ive been told that Perdomo's have a nasty habit of coming to market way too quickly and are very green when they show up on shelves. Aging a few months is mandatory to get their true flavor out. Have a dozen Perdomo 2s stuck in a box deep in my coolerdor and they wont see the light of flame till the middle of summer.

To each his own.

I've very much enjoyed
Perdomo Reserve #4, X
Perdomo2 Exponente

I've had burn problems with them too, but I seem to have burn problems with everything, so I think it's just me.

Cigars International's April/May 2004 catalog has Perdomo2 Milenario Mistakes (25 for $55). Are these not even worth this? It sound like a great deal. these are round and not box pressed (hence mistakes). Just wanted your input.

M. Gipson ???
