All who remember THIS, and were wondering how it has been going (I know you have :laugh: ) here's an update.
I pulled one of the PAM torps out and thought I'd give 'er a try. I smoked a huge batch of fish today (12 reds to be exact - and yes they're hard to keep lit) and thought what a perfect way to end the day. So, I reached into Smokey the Coolidor and grabbed a PAM. I didn;t realize I had grabbed one of the cursed PAM's until it was too late.
It looked ok, but didn't have the oily 'sheen' you'd expect. However, it felt ok, and so what the hell. I put fire to it, and took a draw and thought 'Oh thank GOD' it tastes like a PAM! it had the same flavor you'd expect, the burn was even and perfect, the draw was flawless,and the taste was there. Now, my palate is not as refined as most, so I'm sure there are many here that would scoff at the results, but I'm pleased, overall. There was a tad bit of difference, in that it seemed to burn a tad hotter than a 'normal' PAM, but this one was very smokable. As a matter of fact I was halfway thru it and my cigar smoking buddy down the street came sniffing around! He said he could tell I lit one up and was coming around to enjoy the aroma.
Now before you ask to 'test it yourself', I have already made myself swear I will not send out any of these 'cursed' PAM's... but if you want to send me a 'normal' one so I can compare it I'd be happy to accept it!
Also, I never got satisfaction from the whole ordeal... but I'll never buy from Yahoo auction again as a result...
