I have several of these resting in my humi and I decided to break one out while I was working on my motorcycle yesterday. I had am impression of it as a sturdy workhorse of a cigar. I was quite wrong.
The draw was quite tight. Clipping further up and poking didn't help. About 1/3 way in I guess the plug burned cos after that it was fine.
The taste was very similar to the Padron I had smoked about a week ago. Despite having many in my collection, that was the first of the Padron regular line I had smoked. This first Remedios after the Padron has a striking resemblance.
The ash didnt' seem any less solid that long-filler cigars (this cigar I believe is mixed-filler). The wrapper looked mroe like a rich, dark rosado than a maduro, but tasted great, just like a Natural Padron (and about the same color).
Definitely worth a nub, and definitely one notch above "decent yard-gar." 100% worth the price. When I go off my cigar-buying hiatus this is one of the first brands I will look into.
I would say that if I had zero cigars in my inventory right now, the three brands I would buy would be Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970, JR Ultimates, and Remedios.
