Regulating humidity

Got a question about keeping the humidity at 65%, I've got a digital
hygrometer and when the temperature reads 70 degrees, my humidity is
at 65%. When I come home from work the temperature reads 78 degrees
and the humidity is at 71 to 73%. I don't have climate control in my
apartment(no ac). Wondering if anyone had any suggestions as I am at
a loss.

Thanx, Sidewinder :0

sidewinder,

I don't know how exactly your setup where you live, but you could always try putting your humidor/coolidor in a basement type setting where the temps. usually are more consistent if you have a basement or a dark setting like that...

I would be more concerned with the tempertures reaching 78 degree's. A beetle disaster waiting to happen.

that was something I forgot to mention in my first post, thanx for the input,
much appreciated. I guess I'll have to buy an A/C. I do have a garage thats
somewhat like a basement, maybe I'll try that first, thanks

Get that temp in your apt (and ultimately the humidor) down and fast! Don't be surprised if you find some little critters living in your humidor anbd eating your puros if you keep it as hot as it is.

An air conditioner or a cooler place in the apt would be a good idea. Do you have access to a basement that is finished off? If so, keep the humidor there and monitor it carefully.

Not to digress, but are beetles a problem everywhere? And how do you prevent them from eating your humidor's worth of tobacco?

FWIW, I keep my fridgedor in my closet which is in the center of the apartment. THe temperature doesn't swing as it would if it were left in the open.
