With todays 2-1 over the O's the Sox finish in first place over the fading Rays. Yankees suck as usual 6 games out. I still say Hank fires Giraldi before season's end.

Never a worry in my mind, Sox have to much talent to stay out of the top.

come on 6 games, aint no yankee fan worried about six games back at the all star break.
and come on give us credit we are six games back with the pen, pitching and batting problems we having
that just shows boston sucks soo bad they can only get 6 games ahead of the yankees on a bad day

Right! Like the Sox haven't had their share of injuries. Manny, Dice-K, Timlin and Ortiz to name a few.

Wait....you wanna talk smack because they are 1/2 game over the Rays at the break? The team that recently swept you. The team nobody thought would give a challenge at all.

You say the Rays are fading because of a 7 games losing streak? Didn't the red sox just recently lose 5 in a row....that doesn't qualify as a fade? Seems to me its a lesson to be learned of how a team can jump right back into first with a good run.

Injury card? What about Carlos Pena, Percival, Bartlett, Kazmir, Reyes, Baldelli, Zorbrist, and aybar all recently.

I'm not saying the rays are gonna keep it up...I hope they do. They are young, talented, have a great manager, and have something to prove.

This once again makes me believe my theory that your average red sox fan would take another 80+ year championship drought in trade to finish above the yankees every year in the standings. So focused on hating them that everything else is ignored.

If the Rays keep winning, maybe you can send Manny over to rough up their team secretary.....
 
A Rays fan. Pfft. Like a mosquito on an elephants ass. The Sox and Yanks have proven themselves over the long haul. They don't call 'em the Dog Days of summer for nothing. When it's all said and done it'll be Yankees-Red Sox. The way it has always been. It's just the natural order of things. And besides, who would watch a Brewers-Rays WS.

Wow a whole lot of changes in under a week.....things are going tpo tighten up hear and we will as usual have an amazing second half of the season in the AL East......


Of course the real champion YANKEES will come out on top!!!!
 
Watch out for the Jays, making a run from the bottom of the pack. Now they are in second last place and two games closer to first place. Must be Scotty Rolen back in the line up! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

It's a long season, don't ever count the Sox out.

Get real Brian, the Sox are in trouble. The Yanks are a better team than they were two weeks ago and the Angels have shown they can beat the Sox anywhere any time. Oh, and did I mention the Manny situation? I'm very concerned. Unless Theo does somethling drastic today, and rumor is he isn't, We ain't making the playoffs.
