Fun books: Currently reading the new Brad Thor book, just read Wheel of Darkness by Lincoln Child / Douglas Preston, reading the John Rain series by Barry Eisler, and lots of fishing mags...

Educational / Spiritual books: Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy, Man in the Mirror by Patrick Morley, and of course the 'Good Book' (Bible)...

Currently reading Stephen Kings 'Dark Tower' series (on book III: The Wastelands). Also reading Daniel Negreanu's 'Hold'em Wisdom For All Players'.

Right now, The Book of Fate by Brad Meltzer.

Recent past, The Zero Game by Brad Meltzer, Inkheart / Inkspell by ???, Magyk / Flyte by Angie Sage

I love to read, I have put to bed about 17 books over the course of this deployment.

Tim

Recent read: A Fighters Heart.....good read...well written, Sam Sheridan

Just finished: The Fuck-Up by Arthur Nersesian. Fantastic read. Mildly depressing. WOnderful writing.

Battle Cry by Leon Uris. I haven't read it since I was fifteen.

Society of S by someone, was interesting. Looking for a good hero-fantasy novel. I like those stories where there's a big badass with a sword killing all teh bad guys.

Just finsihed George R.R. Martin's A Feast For Crows from his series A Song of Ice and Fire (freaking GIANT books) and am now reading James Clavell's Gai Jin the third book in his Asia saga.

In October I will be reading George R.R. Martin's next installment of A Song of Ice and Fire series A Dance with Dragons and Stephen Donalson's second installment to the Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, Fatal Revenant.

For the "light" reading side I am reading Smoking, Drinking and Screwing an interesting collection of short stories from some eminent authors such as Bukowski, Buchwald, Mencken, Miller, Thurber and Twain, and a bunch more besides. Funny and insightful, the subject matter is covered by the title!

Have you read The Theory of Poker?

I am currently reading Paradise Lost by Milton and Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami

Currently reading 'Half Blood Prince', #6 in the Harry Potter series. Figured at some point I better be able to discuss it intelligently w/ my 9 year old..although I have to say I am enjoying them. Read the other 5 in about 3 weeks.

Prior to that, read a Vince Flynn novel.

Currently I'm reading the new William Gibson book "Spook Country." I'm taking my time with it and am really enjoying the tale.

Before that I just finished "Crooked Little Vein" by Warren Ellis (the first Novel by one of the preeminent Graphic Novelists), which is like Hunter Thompson meets Raymond Chandler. On goofballs. Funny, sick, twisted, and actually very very good.

I'm still fighting with A Feast For Crows. Martin sure takes his sweet time building tension, and after the awesome release at the end of A Storm of Swords I'm having some trouble getting through the 4th book. It doesn't help that some of my favoirte characters are not in it...

Is Dance of Dragons actually coming out in October?
If so I had better get (re)cracking on Crows!!!

Just purchased- haven't read any pages yet (:(): The last true story i'll ever tell: An accidental Soldier's account of the war in Iraq. by John Crawford

Tim- dont take offense to this! I've read MANY books written by soldier/authors from WWII and Vietnam, writing about their experiences and the things that they had to endure to get back home safely. I didn't choose this book b/c I'm for or against the war, but I feel as though I barely know what people my age are going through over there. I've formed an opinion based on news articles and news footage, its about time I get some REAL INFO. So again, please don't take offense bro....I cannot tell you how much I appreciate what you and your buddies are doing for our country over there.

Still on Chapter 9 of the new Harry Potter book. I need to finish it soon.

Battle Cry by Leon Uris. I haven't read it since I was fifteen.

Great book Doc! I have read all of the books by Leon uris and have not been dissapointed with a single one.

Trinity is my favorite.

Have you read The Wind-up Bird Chronicles by Murakami? That was very good.

I've recommended The Road by Cormac McCarthy to quite a few folks. It won this year's Pulitzer, which was probably a no-brainer for them this year.

Reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown(Prequel to The Da Vinci Code)... Can't hardly seem to put it down...

I just finished Broken Prey - John Sandford and Black Wind - Clive Cussler. I will start Hour Game - David Baldacci in the morning. I have never read one of his books.

I am thinking about reading the Harry Potter series.

Ken

The Chamber by John Grisham....next is The Innocent Man by John Grisham....

I don't know what it is about his writing that sucks me in. After these two books I'll have read all his novels. The guy needs to write faster so I have something to read.

I'm not much of a reader, but I did just finish reading "The Godfather"

I just finished "America Alone" by Marc Stine (spelling may be off on the authors name) And it is a really important read, i highly recommend it.

When I have time, I like to sit outside with a cigar and read. This is happening less and less with a new baby so when I get to, it is a real treat. Once a week lately if I'm lucky.

Currently, I am in chapter 3 of Harry Potter (book 7) and perpetually the 'Good Book.' When I'm in my "office", I thumb through all the cigar catalogs I receive monthly.
