ISOM
This is my first ever ISOM, so keep that in mind when reading this review. I might have been a little excited.
The wrapper feels like velvet. Soft to the lips. It reminds me of this Native American girl I used to go out with in High School... Back to the review. The first draw has a hint of black cherry. I'm also getting some woody, soil-like flavors. Magnificent combination. I have little desire to drink anything with this baby. The flavors are sitting politely on the palate. A shot through the nose brings a sting of black cherry. A little further into the first third and I'm starting to pick up some cocoa.
Wow, this cigar has a lot going on. Into the 2nd third and the black cherrry is being taken over by the cocoa. Hopefully not entirely, that flavor was exquisite.
There's a slight rain coming down just outside the open garage door. People driving past always give a long inquisitive look. Chances are they are wondering if I'm smoking a Cuban. People really don't know jack about cigars, but hey, in this case...
Into the last half of this cigar and the cocoa is gone. I don't even have a word to describe the flavors that took over, but they are very pleasant.
I'm getting some real nice hints of grass in the bottom third. I've had that Beach Boys tune "God Only Knows" repeating in my head after randomly coming across a live performance on youtube.
My only real surprise with this cigar is that it is fairly mild. Which is not a disappointment, just a fact. The finish is bringing another unusual, but pleasant flavor. I'm going to rate this baby and enjoy it to the fingertips. I would give this cigar a 93. The draw was just slightly tight and she smoked awfully fast, but the flavors... The only reason I won't go higher is that I'm a noob, and I should leave at least 7 points open for future experience and for the sake of not coming off like a complete dumbsh.t.
Finally, a big thank you to the gentleman who sent me this cigar. To date, this is the best robusto I've smoked.
