Quintero Natural Cigars
Wrapper: Honduran Cubano
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan and Honduran

Decided to fire up another Big Smoke cigar this evening. Overall appearance was quite pleasant. It's a box pressed cigar, with a reddish Honduran Corojo wrapper. Prior to lighting, I noticed the tobacco was kind of loosely wrapped. In any case, I proceeded to light the cigar. The initial taste was a bit spicy, not bad... After a few minutes it mellowed out and it began to present quite a bit of chocolaty hints of sweetness... The cigar produced a good amount of smoke. Overall, there was quite a bit of tobacco taste, some leather notes. Towards the end I detected some definite grape characteristics.

Cigar burned a little uneven, however I only had to touch it up once. Overall, this was quite a good smoke, and was very pleasant. I enjoyed the array of flavors it produced. I would consider it a medium bodied cigar. This was a fun and interesting smoke. I recommend this cigar to someone who is developing their palate and would like to experience a cigar that offers subtle flavor variances.

Some of these Big Smoke cigars are actually quite interesting. I will continue to review all of the BS cigars as time permits.

I remember quite some time ago actually, I got three or four of these sticks from Cigar Dave. They were ok, but nothing I'd go out and buy. When I went to the Big Smoke in NYC, I picked up another and think I gave it straight away to my father in law. I did see that there are some maduro versions of these now, and I might give those a try just to see if there is any substantive difference/improvement.

Thanks for the review Rod.

Ive also has one of these before, nothing to brag about, I found them to be a little boring and not really a fan of their label, somthing I probably wouldnt buy again.

If these are the same Quintero cigars I'm thinking about, I'd echo cigarsmkr's comments. I've had about 4 of them and each one had significant burn issues. The first one I smoked from a different sample had a very surprising floral taste to it that I found very intriguing, however after ordering a few more and smoking those I was unimpressed.

It is not a great smoke, but I have it in my rotation. It is a better deal if it can be had at auction for less. I tried both, the natural and maduros, and I found both with great draw and some burn problems. A tat it is not, but not bad for a change. It reminds me of a less flavored Maria Guerrera. Thanks for the great review.
