What cigar do you think will be a very expensive cigar in 25 years?? If you were a collector what would you buy for the deep sleep????

I would go with the king.

COHIBA -DC & SUBLIME

No cigars bring a premium like Cohiba and these are limited. They will be very scarce in 10 years let alone 25.

PAM 26's is a real good bet! Maybe like some rarer opus's. That'd be good to lock up and never think about lol.

for smoking later on cpould see getting opus and pam, but odds are they'll still make some.

agree on the Cohiba DC ELs, something like that, a one-time limited thing.
of course, you could always get some maduro opus' and other really rare sticks.

Something that is premium now, and will be discontinued from production, or is limited production.

Perdomo EDS, that sounds like a safe bet

I'm not so sure -- I think that line will be around for a while... and also Perdomo doesn't have quite the same street cred as some other brands. I'd bank my money on a limited edition [Cuban] Cohiba, Fuente, Padrón, [Cuban] Trinidad, some of the Cuban ELs (HdM Piramide EL, Cohiba Piramide EL, Cohiba DC EL, etc.).

personally, the question proposed bothers me.

do i smoke cigars for profit?
no. if i did i would buy up every BTL and sell them on Cigarbid for $100 per 5 despite the $13 a piece price I pay. seriously, i dont buy cigars i dont intend to smoke. If you want to invest, buy some Jeter rookie cards.

do i smoke cigars with age because they're good?
yes. hell, i smoke fresh cigars cause they're good. if the question was, what cigar should i age that would be the best tasting, then i would understand the question.

I know (hopefully) that you're just asking the question to just ask the question, but we do smoke cigars because we like cigars? I'm sure that you were just asking the question, but i feel like this happens to often. $40 for a Padron Millineum? How does it smoke? A God of Fire? Awesome, but what's the prelight draw taste like?

I know that some cigars are (literal) works of art that should be stored in museums, and partially the enjoyment is visceral, but the reason you cut, toast, light, and draw is the reason you bought the cigar. period point blank.

Well put, but what about cigars getting better with age? ???

Even if they still make it the value would have to jump on good pieces?
as far as numbered stuff I think absolutely.

No problem with the question, as it was addressed to the collectors and not really to the general cigar smoker. In order to be a true collector you are always looking out for your initial investment.

For me, it would be a cabinet cigar over a dress box. I would say SLR double corona 50 cabs or maybe a 50 cab of Punch double coronas. The always popular Esplendido would probably be the best bet though.

I feel the same way but I was just wondering, after reading devin coles post about trading some cigars for some really expensive scotch, what would be a cigar that would escalate in value like that which I can buy today. On the other hand I dont have any problem with someone who "collects" cigars just like someone who collects jeter rookie cards.

Just as a sports card enthusiast might collect rare cards that may appreciate in value a cigar enthusiast may collect cigars. Why collect something you're not interested in ??? If I had the money I would seriously consider cigars as an investment. Sounds like fun to me. Of course I'd probly just end up smoking them anyway

I have plenty of cigars that I do not intend to ever smoke; nor do I intend to sell them down the road to "get rich quick"

I'm sure many stamp collectors have stamps they will not use to mail a letter, and coin collectors have many coins they never intend to spend. No big deal.
