Question on Partagas

I bought a pack of Partagas Naturales off Cbid several weeks ago and fell in love with the cigar. Now I try to pick them up when I can. The one's I've had exhibited a nutty flavor with a creamy aftertaste (yeah, I now realize I left myself open for some jokes on that one...). What lines of ISOM Partagas might I enjoy with a flavor profile somewhat similar to this? Thanks for your opinions.

i am by far not any kind of voice on cuban cigars, but from what i understand, cuban brands with the same name don't really have anything to do with one another and aren't really even comparable

anything that says Partagas Serie "anything" is gonna be a great smoke

Having smoked both the Dominican & Cuban Partagas, IMHO they are definitly not the same...both great, but different...if you liked what you smoked and it was one of the Dominican Partagas cigars (and from your description it sounds like it was, and the Partagas Naturales are Dominican as far as I know) then I would suggest further exploring the Dominican Partagas line...I tend to favor them and there are some excellent choices to be had as they have recently expanded greatly...and while I know I'm probably gonna get flamed for this, I really think that some of the smokes coming out of the DR are every bit as good as the ISOM's and sometimes even better...from the last few Cubans I've smoked it just sorta seems like the quality has fallen off a bit (and no, they weren't counterfeit, as I know the source of them)...the Partagas Series S (figurados) are great...the new Partagas Black Label are wonderful if you like a smoke with a bolder flavor, the Partagas Spanish Rosados (sungrown wrapper if I am correct) are also wonderful...I also like the Partagas Maduro which I feel has a bolder flavor but similar to what you describe...other choices that I have found to be similar are mostly Dominican's too...the RyJ Clemenceau's and Churchills, and if you want a slightly bolder flavor the La Gloria Cubana's...last night I tried my first Ashton Maduro and really enjoyed that too...it was a maduro, but more to the milder side...hope this helps... :D

My favorite yard gar is the Partagas 8-9-9 and it has similar tastes as you described but more woody and nutty than creamy. That very same cigar from Cuba is a totally different animal with that typical Cuban taste and its a world class cigar when aged.
for what its worth if you can smoke a Dominican cigar and enjoy it as much as the same brand thats a Cuban I would go with the Dominican every time. less hassle, Money and its not against the law. Just my 2cts.

Good luck.

You are correct; like comparing apples and oranges.....they have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
