How in the hell did some idiot end up bidding $32 for that?
I think you answered your own question. An idiot! :D

Regarding the guy from South Carolina that bid $31.95.....
They did a DNA test on him and it came up the same as 90% of the people in SC

Okay I just pulled a Robusto size out of my Humi and fired it up. Construction was awesome, cap was very nice along with the draw, and the wrapper was nice and oily. Medium Bodied smoke with a nice ash, and nice burn.

The question is would I buy a box of these?

Well after trying the one I had I certianly would, they are worth $1.20 a cigar by all means!

I got a fiver for around $6 from the devil site myself a few weeks ago. Not bad at all, but I think I'll let the other 4 chill out for a while. The last third, which took about 30 minutes, got a little bumpy. If I let them set for a while maybe this will be more bearable. Then again, they probably didn't roll off the line this winter, if CB is clearing them out, they've probably been there for a while. There was a bit of bloom on three of them. I ramble a lot don't I?

bottom line is I think they are worth it, I would smoke them, while there are Perdomo's and CAO's I have paid much more for to try that I wouldnt touch again.

They would be good to give out to friends if they smoke even now and then instead of them grabbing a ISOM or Opus or something from your humi not knowing what they are!

Einstein or Darwin?

hurry, closes soon :). I bought a box for good measure ;). A little bit over as dollar a piece guys!

I snagged 2 boxes also. Should be a good change from what I usually smoke on my drive home.

OK, here's my question (probably a dumb one, but check out my intro in the lobby, I'm just a FNG).

I've smoked the PI plenty (but haven't had any since JR and Mr. PI apparently had some kind of falling out and JR stopped carrying them). So I was thrilled when this deal appeared!

I bought a box of these, they arrived yesterday in great shape and virtually every one features a dusting of bloom. But the bands don't look like anything I've ever seen wrapped around a PI. Those of you who bought a box will probably know what I mean, for everyone else I found a picture of what these bands look like at the following address (I'm not recomending the site, I've never heard of it till today, it just happens to have a picture of the band).

http://www.discountcigarshop.com/Merchant2...ategory_Code=PI

Anyway, it looks alot different from the PI bands that I used to get from JR (for an example of that band, just check out the PI website, it's on every page). Does anyone know what the story is? Is this a super old band? a super new one? a fake!?

Help please, and feel free to call me FNG while you're at it.

Thanks

PS. should I freeze these for a day or two? (to kill beetle eggs) lI never freeze my stuff from JR since they say virtually all of their inventory has been through a freezer at some point. But I've never bought from cigarbid before.

Welcome to Cigarpass!!

Don't know squat about PI, so I can't help you on the band question.
As for freezing your 'gars from c-bid, there seems to be a difference of opinion about that around here. Some people swear by freezing, others swear at it.
Personally, I have between 300-400 cigars on hand, and 90% of them came from C-bid. I've never had a beetle problem from them (knock on cedar wood). If you keep your temperature around 70 degrees or preferably lower, and your humidity between 65 & 70, I think you should be okay.

I have a box of the PI Presidente Maduro that have a different band then the one you link to and what arrived today. Also, one of the boxes has a clasp in the front and the others don't. I think these are just minor changes over time and are not something to worry about.

As for freezing, I have bought 600+ cigars from Cbid/CI over the years and haven't had any problems this bugs yet. YMMV.
