I bought a small handful of these in the Rothschild size about 6 months ago where they sat in my humidor ever since...i tried one last night and was completly discusted with it. Was VERY harsh tasting the first inch or so and developed into a dirt like flavor...the draw was darn near perfect and it burned nice and even, but just tasted like a shovel full of dirt out of the garden! Quite unpleasant to say the least...did i maybe get a bad one or are these things just not that great? Ill give them another go around soon, but just wanted to get your guys' opinions on them before i decide to use em as trading stock! :whistling:

I had my first one last week. Didn't let it sit, bought it and smoked it so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I'm new at this so I don't know how much worth you can put to this but I wasn't amazed with it either. Not disgusted, just not what I expected. Not much flavor to it, and kinda harsh. I wouldn't turn one down, but probably wouldn't smoke one again. I tried the Hoyo de Monterrey Rothschild (double maduro i think, which the guy in the shop said was similar) and liked that one alot better. Just my opinion, for what it's worth.

I tried the Magnum (5 1/4 x 54) size when they were offering them in two packs with the Bolo size (4 3/16 x 36). It had a robust flavor, not overbearing, and not really bad, just nothing to make me run out and buy a box. I'll try it again, to give the line a second chance as I really did enjoy the Bolos, though I think they are a part of the regular Punch line.

I enjoyed the magnum I had, relitively anyway. It wasn't great but then again it didn't cost over $10 either. And it's not often I enjoy a cheap cigar.

I think the Rare Corojo Rothchild is a great little smoke. I have a box of 50 that I have just when I want a short, cheap smoke. I don't get any harshness out of them, especially after they have been in the humi awhile. I do get some earthiness, leather, the charred flavors. Medium in body.

I say give it another try.

Just a revisit....

Well, i want to retract all my previous statment about these little suckers...i just finished up another one. After the disasterous results i had with the last one i was half tempted to hock em off on someone else who would enjoy them, however, im glad i didnt! I fired up another one and found it to be a WONDERFUL smoke...lots of spice, very smooth and rich tasting, but not to the point to overpower your sences. Like the first one i had, the draw was flawless and burned down to the nub without any assistance from me or my lighter. I did get about 1/2 an inch that was a little funky tasting about halfway through, but it seemed to disapear quickly. Im guessin the first one was just a dud...might go pick some more of these up this weekend!!

I also had a very bad experience with my 1st one. It was the worst cigar I ever had, just putrid. I did, however, give it another chance. The 2nd one I had was somewhat pleasant. Still not at the top of my list but it was a very good smoke, nothing like the last one. I have a few more of thes in my humidor and am still a little gun shy about them but I will surely try them again soon.

I like these with some age on them(had a box of double coronas from first production 2004)but can't figure out why they call them corojo when there is no corojo in them.
