I bought a Box of Punch DC's dated MAR07. I decided to smoke one today and am doing so as I write this. I would describe the wrapper as dark redish brown, just lighter than a madruo and slightly veiny. The cigar is a bit spongy. I have noticed the Hoyo DC is also. I don't know if this is just the way some of the ISOM DC's are. Sorry, I did not do a prelight nose. The first 1/2 inch produced notes of rich coffee and cocoa. there are also notes of cedar and black cherry. Since this is a young cigar there is a strong acidic and amonia characteristic that tingles the roof of my mouth, but this does not overpower the strong cocoa and coffee notes. As I nose the cigar, suprisingly, it does not burn and I pick up floral notes and more pronounced cedar. The ash is a salt and pepper grey and is holding on well as I write. Now about an inch and a half into it, there has been no need for touch ups. The Draw is perfect---lot's of smoke, one reason I love smoking churchills and DC's. Since I am not near done with this cigar I will have to post how it finished. As of now I am impressed and look forward to seeing how they smoke after they nap a while.
Ok, I finished the cigar--Harsh third--TOO YOUNG. Good night Puch DC's. Sleep well!
