Private Stock?

I bought a Private Stock yesterday from my guy cuz I remembered seeing something about it in a catalog. I found the catalog - Famous Smoke Shop, and they said this was from the same factory as Davidoff. I pushed it out of the cellophane and the smell is unusual, not bad, different. I did notice that the wrapper was flawless though - like a Davidoff. Anybody know any more about these? Pretty cloth band on it. Is it a Davidoff second or what?

The naturals are Davidoff seconds. Since Davidoff doesn't make a maduro, well, you can figure that one out :0

The Private Stocks aren't Davidoff cigars that didn't make the cut. They are made from mix filler tobacco in the Davidoff Factory, they are made exclusively as Private Stock....

I believe Private Stock used to be a Davidoff Second, however they currently are not. Here is information from brother Augie754's updated seconds list .

“Private Stock cigars are their own brand. They are not Davidoff secondos and they are produced in a different manufactory. The blend of the Private Stock cigars is also different. The common between Davidoff and Private Stock is ownership of brand – the owner is the Oettinger IMEX AG in Basel, Switzerland. Unfortunately we have to inform you that we do not sell Davidoff 'seconds.' Davidoff cigars are only availalble in first class quality."

The tobacco that doesn't make the cut for Davidoff is shipped to the other factory, you aren't getting Davidoff grade tobacco - its most likely cosmetic issues though.
