i just got my hands on 3 of these sweet hearts tonight. any thoughts on them?

They are very popular for seconds. Lots of people like them, although they have never done much for me. Probably because they are pretty mild. Good price though.

Smoke one and tell us what you think. ;)

Information on "Seconds" including the Private Stock label:

Seconds Link

No idea how accurate this information is, but a good general reference nevertheless.

sounds great and thanks for the replys men. This may lead to my first review. ill tag one along to work tomorrow.

Wasn't this up for debate a bit ago? Actually same thing on another board. Turns out PS are their own line now. Not seconds at all. Someone contacted Davidoff and they were pretty specific that Davidoff does not do "seconds" This may have started as something but from what I read its a specific line now.

They used to be Davidoff seconds, I guess they became there own brand. I've had one, and don't remember too much about it, must of been uneventful.

Here's the email reply I got from the Davidoff people.

“Private Stock cigars are their own brand. They are not Davidoff secondos and they are produced in a different manufactory. The blend of the Private Stock cigars is also different. The common between Davidoff and Private Stock is ownership of brand – the owner is the Oettinger IMEX AG in Basel, Switzerland. Unfortunately we have to inform you that we do not sell Davidoff 'seconds.' Davidoff cigars are only availalble in first class quality."

Kind regards, Davidoff International, Dirk Metzeler

If you want something similar to a Davidoff second, try the Kelner seconds. I think the lonsdale size is the best tasting, but I can't find them online.

had one today. it was about 5" in lenth and a 44-46 ring. pretty good cigar. mild nonetheless, it might now be strong enough for the tough guys but it did the trick for me as a quick smoke. flavor was pretty consistant from the start. too bad i only had a 30 minute break and didnt take my time with it. but for two bucks its worth a try!

i smoked one of these today. my first. not bad,mild,aromatic.....until about a little past half then for some reason i got the "sweaty ass with overtones of dingleberry" (quoted from bhaney about another cigar). had to put it down, :(

Probably too mild for me, I wouldn't buy them. The only Davidoffs I like are the Millenniums.
