Location: Metropolitan Society (smoking club)
Situation: Watching the Jags/Colts game
Libation: GlenMorangie Lasanta
Size: 6 7/8 x 40
Shape: Panatela
Burn: Even
Draw: Loose but required a few re-lights (might have been over humidified)
Several weeks ago, I received a very nice order of cigars from Uptown Cigar. The selection was primarily Cameroon. I was looking for an alternative to the elusive Hemingway and the Preferido Lancero was in the mix. Normally I like my cigars a little thicker, but a number of learned colleagues on the board recommended the Lancero, so I decided to try them out. God am I glad I listened.
From the first puff, this was a wonderful cigar. Creamy at the start but the sweet flavor of the wrapper came through the whole way. It also produced the most wonderful plumes of white smoke I have ever experienced from such a thin cigar. It seemed to last forever and I was very happy the whole way through. The sweetness of the Glenmorangie accentuated the cigar very nicely. At the end I definitely tasted more pepper so I did not smoke it to the nub. But it rivaled the Hemingway Signature and is a lot easier to find
I am sorry if the review is not more detailed. I am trying to refine my taste and ability to discern flavors. But i can say that this cigar has risen very high on my must have list and more orders are in the near future.
For anyone looking for a nice introduction to the Cameroon wrapper, I highly recommend trying this baby out and I know where you can get some as well
