This was gifted to me by Newfie along with the corojo missiles. The missile was defiantly built to RP's high standards for quality. The wrapper had no blemishes, and the oils made it look shiny. The pre-light draw was perfect, I could tell this was going to be a good smoke. The taste was a tad harsh right off the bat, but after my second puff, it was smooth, sweet with notes of caramel and nuts, what I have come to describe as a quality maduro flavor, and like mrjinglesusa said, I could have sworn I tasted some coco towards the end of it. This cigar had a consistent taste from start to finish, perfect burn and draw. Like the corojo version, this Edge was a strong MoFo. I don’t think I'd try it on an empty stomach, or before noon, but it is a great accompaniment to a good meal. If your into maduro's and dig strong MoFo cigars, then give this a shot.

I can't say I've ever enjoyed an Edge let alone any RP cigar. Nice review though.

Agreed Jon.

Many people enjoy Punch (N/C's) as an example and I just can't seem to get anything good out of 'em!!

I didn't find the Edge Corojo strong at all, and I typically don't smoke strong cigars.

Nice review
I have had a few RP Edge and have enjoyed them all.

Good review... your experience pretty much mirrored the ones I've had with this cigar. The initial harshness, followed by very nice, full flavors. I really like these.

I've been told to give the edge maduro a try myself. I had a normal edge once and tossed it after 2 min. Here's hopein for the maduro.

I recently started smokeing the edge missle maduro and love it!
I wouldnt say it was the best but damn fine edge size imo.

I have a couple resting thanks to a friend! Just might have to try one this weekend? :D

Unless Rocky changed the formula lately...this isn't a real maduro cigar. They dye the wrapper with tobacco juice to get that uniform color...not a true dark, aged maduro wrapper. Check out the next time you smoke one how the brown color comes off onto your fingers! They are OK, though. But not great.

Same holds true for his Famous' only brand the "Rocky Patel Cuban Blend Maduro" it too rubs off and after some time in the humi fades to the cuban blend corojo color. It got to where I have to keep the corojo's in one humi and the maduro in another. But,it is a damn fine sweet maduro, and I am no fan of sprayed maduro flavoring.
