Potential humidor project

WOW, that would be an awesome start. Quartersawn white oak is great wood for a humidor as it's very stable, not to mention very attractive, of course that's all in the eye of the beholder. I just happen to have a fancy for it as I've built our dinning and bedroom sets out of the same wood in the Mission style.

Good luck, it's worth the drive to get that piece!

I'm thinking maybe I could get Baron to do a roadtrip herf, B&M, humi pickup ride

He seems to know the hot spots down in Chi town.

P.S. Wade, good to hear your feedback. I thought it was very cool as its antique. Looks in good shape. I think it would be an easier project than some. See you Thursday!!

I've been checking the local antique stores as well...

What is the trick to getting the door to seal shut? magnets and some thin weather stripping?

Very very nice. That is as Wade said, it is a very stable piece having quartersawn oak. It will be a nice project.
