I sold a sampler on the board wednesday to Brewmeister and told him I would PM him the DC the next day. I used to automatic system at the PO since they were closed and dropped it off. I PM'ed him the DC and got a PM back saying I musta PM'ed him the wrong one, because it's been delivered? ???

I checked the DC with the one on my reciept and sure enough, it said delivered. I called the 800 number post office this morning and they called my local post office where I dropped off the package. They stopped delivery of the package and told me to go speak to Jim. Jim took today off (figures  ) and Jim will be at work tommorrow. They confirmed the tracking on the package and on my reciept were the same number and they don't have any idea why it says delivered.

Anyone ever had this happen?

Here's the DC:

0417 6341 6340 0500 0013

Nope. And in this last year, I've sent well over 100-110 packages with del-con. I do know that the packages dropped off in the APC's are not scanned until they are delivered. This is unlike the ones dropped off at the counter which are scanned upon receipt for delivery.

BTW, I was not sending cigars but flashlights.

I;ve seen a couple people on here that have had the DC's re-used, so if the original was not scanned in the second time then it would still show the last action on that # (delivered).

I have had the same experience with these. I had a package delivered today, and the website still says that it is waiting for it to be delivered to the post office.

I wish that FedEx was a little cheaper, and I would use them all the time. Nice to see every step of the way with a shipment...

You're getting your wish (kind of).
USPS is getting more expensive real soon.

I just had the same thing happen with a dc on the PTB Pass. It says it was delivered in Mapleton MN on Oct. 28th, but I mailed it to Alaska this afternoon!

KB, this just happened on my Ball & Chain pass on Smokers, and you commented on it, so come on TN, you know it happens, especially around TN, cause it happened to Sarge.

This happens a lot..
we have a great post office here and they scan as they pick up our packages, but sometimes they forget to scan one as it goes, when that happens, the number will show delivered as they re-use numbers.

Damn.... I just sent a package to GC2 and the DC# says it was delivered on Oct 31..... in CA

I mailed it on Dec 1 and Ray lives in TX..... Post Office sucks

Just curious, for those of you having a problem with DC#'s, are those numbers generated from an on-line "Click and Ship" transaction? Or are they from the automated systems at the post office such as the one Kayakinboy used? Or are they from the post office counter service shipping? I've only ever used Delivery Confirmation from the Click and Ship on-line service and have yet to have this problem.

TIA

Might I suggest not using the USPS. I have had a few bad experences with them lately. I had one package delivered from a vendor by them and the cigars were ruined...crushed. One recent box the DC said it was delivered to my house. It was not...No clue as to it's location.

FedX and UPS may cost more, but I have had less problems with them.

I used the Automated Machine in the PO also.....

I think I might start using UPS

I had something odd happen recently... a guy gave me a DC#, I checked it, and it said it had been delivered already... in Las Vegas. Oddly, it said it was delivered before he even mailed it.

The package ended up showing up just fine... I checked the DC# on the package, and it was the same... delivered in Las Vegas 5 days ago. Weird.

they told me click and ship would keep all this from happening, so I mailed out 6 things on saturday... let's see how those goes...

I have a feeling that there are a lot of grubby handed postal workers out there and at this time of year they're stocking up for the holidays. POS's, plain and simple because they no the system will do jack squat for the consumer, gotta love the mail monopoly.

That’s a pretty stupid way to get charged with a felony and have the Fed's come pay you a visit. I would be very surprised if internal theft was rampant at anytime of the year.

I have not had any mail disappear forever. Sure it has been late and even in pieces loaded into a cute little plastic bag that says "sorry, but the sorting machine ate your package for lunch" :angry2:

You know, I agree that that works while they're in the post, they've got surveilence everywhere, but the occasional missed package while out on route, no way to track those mistakes. Sorry, but this just happened to my box pass and I'm not happy at all with the USPS.
